If they target pandya, they will give him wickets as he has mixed his pace up very well till now.

He is bound to have a bad game or two, the final stages just might be it so we definitely need more bowling cover!

yes 6th bowler is needed.  We need to back Jadhav as he is the only option, atm.

The semi final won’t be played with a 59 meter boundary on one side like it was in the group game. It will be played with normal boundary sizes.

If we are going to playing on a fresh pitch, then it makes even more sense to play both Kuldeep and Chahal.

Someone like Bhuvi will do absolutely nothing on a excellent batting track. The wrist spinners can at least get a wicket or 2 and support Shami & Bumrah.

Don’t look into the last match too much. The only reason why England got 337 was because of the small boundary.

I am not looking at last match.  i am looking at the whole WC.  Sample is there for you to see.  Fresh pitch will certainly have some help for seamers, not for spinners.  Even if it is slow, it wont help spin.  Ball has barely turned this WC.  We have enough sample, tour to England last year in ODIs which we lost despite playing both spinners and WC this year where our spinners are averaging 45.  You don't drop a pacer averaging 25 to accommodate someone averaging 55 until the pitch is a turner.  Both spinners have not proved to be wicket takers.  Chahal is in better form, atm. So, he should play as England does not have too many left handers.

Kuldeep will play 100% for sure which is the right move. He bowled very well in the last 6 overs He stifled them in the middle period. They were not willing to take risks against him once a Roy got out to him

Someone like bhuvi who has excelled in this tournament, won us the match Australia on a flat pitch at a crucial time won't do much but someone like kuldeep who has mostly failed on all pitches this tournament will do much? Excellent logic

And if course kuldeep is also going to bowl in the death overs too as we have no one else apart from bumrah. England has failed in death overs in every match except India one and there they succeeded only because shami bowled

Both Shami and Bhuvi can be targeted on flat pitches. Guys like Oshane Thomas and lot of other pacers were obliterated by England only recently. Sadly India misses a left arm seamer like Behrendoff.  Full swinging deliveries from a tall fast bowler is always difficult to face. These 2 short right arm fast bowlers at best will skid on which they will have practice against Mark wood in the nets.

No, you want Bhuvi to be targeted when he has proven again and again on flat pitches that he knows how he can keep it quiet

You comparing his death bowling to shami is like me saying both sharma and pandaya can score 100s. There is a league of difference between both of them

Most probably we'll be playing England. If that's the case management won't take any chances. They will go with Bumrah/Shami and Bhuvi.

they need to go with all 3 I think unless there's something in the pitch for spinners. besides, kuldeep in this WC has neither contained runs effectively nor taken middle order wkts.

containing runs is not his job.  he was picked so that we could pick wickets in middle overs which has not happened in this WC.

he wasn't selected for run containment, but kuldeep has generally had a good ER when bowling well, because he takes wkts and derails momentum. since he can't take wkts, his ER is also higher than usual. kinda baffling how many want him in KOs when he has been mostly feckless apart from that ball to babar.

Kuldeep unable to pick wickets this game and going at more than 5 rpo. Donno whats going on with him in WC where he is unable to pick middle order wickets except pak game.

true that ..sri Lanka has recovered really well since kuldeep is ineffective..

Pitches are getting slower and slower and his pace of bowling is allowing batsman enough time to score singles of him ..making him ineffective.

2 years and the whells have come off for Kuldeep at critical time

He is young. Don't write him off. Every player goes through a phase where he has to introspect and improve on his deficiencies. Weakness of Kuldeep is his poor fitness and lack of strength.
