I heard Mavi is good with bat, can he replace Pandya as allrounder?

Washington Sundar can be an ideal batting all-rounder.  Can be a backup to Hardik or both can play at 6 and 7.

And this will allow us to play 3 specialist quicks too, along with Kuldeep / Chahal, on seamer friendly tracks or SENA countries.

Washington Sundar is Shoaib Malik/Hafeez kind of player (maybe better)who can bat at top 5 and give you 8-10overs

I rate him highly ,he seems to have all the ingredients to become a genuine all rounder

He can bat in the top 5.  But the TM is using him at 8.  So, 6 can be a good start to him being considered a batting all-rounder.

We need to find one fast bowling allrounder for tests who is good enough to bat in top 6 but is not just a fill in as a bowler. If he is able to hold no7 spot also it is fine as we can bat Pant at no6.

In Odis and T20s India should be able to field three fast bowlers plus Pandya .They just can't go with Bhuvi/Shami and Bumrah.

I would stay away from guy like Sundar who is definition of bits and pieces player.maybe t20s but can he be effective in Australia

I don't think he will work in odis , .He is young he can improve his batting.

It is better to go with Pant at 6 and Jadeja at 7  or the other way round  ... with either 4 specialist fast bowlers or 3 more fast bowlers and another spinner to follow, depending on the pitch /  conditions.

Agree strongly.

Answer could be Sundar at 6 and  Hardik at 7 or the other way round.

Then 3 specialist pacers and a wrist spinner.

India: (possible) 1 Rohit Sharma, 2 KL Rahul, 3 Virat Kohli (capt.), 4 Shreyas Iyer, 5 Manish Pandey, 6 Rishabh Pant (wk.), 7 Shivam Dube, 8 Ravindra Jadeja, 9 Yuzvendra Chahal, 10 Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 11 Deepak Chahar

Espncricinfo predicts this team for today.  Quite likely too.

3 medium pacers

And they may do well in India.

But what about T20Is in Australia. ?

The management seems to suffer from acute schizophrenia. Dr Jekyll selects the test team and Mr Hyde selects Limited overs cricket.

ER of the 3 medium pacers in match 1

Chahar.  14

Dube.     13

Bhuvi.      9

Only Bhuvi's ER is ok in the context of this match

Playing 1 good and accurate medium paced swing bowler often works in T20Is.

Playing 3 medium paced swing bowlers may make things a bit too similar and predictable.

DL will be leak runs like anything in Australia.Bhuvi and DL are not needed in the same team.

ER of the 3 medium pacers in the 2nd T20I

Chahar. 10

Bhuvi.    9

Dube.     9

We scored at  8.5 runs per over

We lost the match.

This is what we have been saying repeatedly.

Can't have 3 medium pacers playing together and no fast bowler present.

We are going back to the 1980s with this dibbly-dobbly brigade.  Why. ?

Pakistan cricket is suffering with this ,they had trundlers doing well till last year in their domestics and hence were rewarded with chances in tests and lois
