vvvslaxman Posted December 11, 2019 Author Posted December 11, 2019 If Irfan pathan is around as a young guy he would be the all rounder batting at 7. Back then he had to bat at 8 or 9. Irfan and Yusuf finished a match against SL. Irfan also finished a match with Jadhav.

Who are finishers for IPL teams and how many are from India? We need to assess that list first.

These days you don't expect our 6-7 finish games like that.

Hence the relative market value of even Dubey is high, let's not even talk about Hardik Pandya - who is legit world-class in that role of a lower order hitter.

Another guy on his day is capable of taking on any attack. Pace/spin/slower ball/bouncer. sandeep 1

Sky is also there what doesnt help him lack of another skill- bowling or wk. So its very important that dube comes good

Yup if pant doesnt do well ill take dk rather kishen or samson. Ill still give pant 2 more series - WI odi series and SL t20 series. If he fails ...my choice wud be dk
putrevus Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 I would play KKD in my t20 team over Pant anyday. We don't have anyone in the system who is half decent as him.I like Pant but he still needs to develop more to be successful in t20s.Let him play odis and tests.

It is not by choice, if domestic hitters are there, they would use them too.Pandya was doing it for MI nicely.

Of course - Goutham had a moment or 2 for RR, but he's more of a bowler who can slog, not a consistent hitter. By definition, such players are rare. Not just in India.

No England , Australia, WI have good hitters and NZ to some extent have decent hitters.India other than Pandya have none, even Pandya is unproven.
vvvslaxman Posted December 11, 2019 Author Posted December 11, 2019 THat GUrkreet singh showed some potential. But not that much though.

With Maxwell gone don’t think Australia have too many crazy hitters down the order. They are like us as well Top 3 dependent. Warner-Finch and Smith. Carey etc are proper batsmen.

If Extra slot opens can play a lottery player like Dube maybe or even Sundar. 7 bowling options. If that is too much can replace either Dube or Sundar with another batsman like Pandey Making Rahul keep can open up our combos Rohit Rahul (WK) Kohli Iyer Pandya Dube Sundar Bhuvi Shami Kuldeep Bumrah

Ideally 4,5,6 should be more dangerous in T20 than top 3. so i saw cricbuzz just now and realised there was a game and apparently India won a series as well double lol -- Super happy. But one game Pants goes up and gets out cheap and top three of Rohit/ not Dhawan but a new third wheel KL rahul and Kohli bat well and Shreyas bats 0 balls for 0 runs a thread started complaining over dependence on top three as a trend from Rohit/Dhawan/Kohli days. OK.

OK. Nothing to do with this match. This has been the trend for a while. Top order clicks till the key match. They get out quickly in that match. We just implode. Like in the last match scored 18 runs in last 3 overs posted a below par total. Edited December 12, 2019 by vvvslaxman
