And here I have my local jat colleagues cum historians telling me how they were strong historically n didn't allow Islam n how Mughal were scared of surajmal....

Ask them to tell you their history before 18th century. And no not some Facebook/whatsApp university gibberish according to which Jats were responsible for Alexander's death apparently.

The authentic, research based history which the historians across the ideological spectrum accept with no hesitation.

If that was the case then how come all of the modern day Haryana was under Muslim occupation and was part of the Royal Khalisa land(means the revenue collected of it went straight to the imperial treasury).

Re Surajmal, ask that colleague of yours who bestowed the title of Maharaja upon him.

Surajmal was a vassal of Jaipur. Sure he took advantage of the growing anarchy and weakening of the imperial mughal power but he never formally severed his relationship with Delhi and always considered the Emperor as his supreme overlord.

Or is it you whos Making stuff up on the spot

Here surajmals guy is telling maratha to let them (suralmaj army) loot Delhi n Lal quila if Mughal doesn't pay up.

Here's a bit of an unsolicited advice, if you are trying to debate on historical matters and bring in some stupid TV series plot as proof , it makes you look like a fool.

Agree with Whatever you say. Not worth fighting with my icf brother for some point scoring :)

There are many Brahmins who could justifiably qualify. For examples ones who are involved in last rites, funerals, they are treated worse then OBC and are at par with ST.

Nothing against Brahmins here on ICF, who started the caste system in India? Was it the Brahmins since they are supposed to be the Supreme high caste in India :hmmm:

Yes. Their decades-of carefully built caste structure was curb-stomped at the hands of British and Mullahs. Best thing to happen for the then lower caste people. Because the invaders didn't give a sh!t if one belonged to upper or lower caste.

Ya right, Brahmins are making lingayats and volkaligas fight for power using Jaathi politics, angerz kab ke chale gaye. If the British got rid of caste system, why did they categorize and tabulated the hierarchy of 6000 castes in the first census of modern India. They effectively formalized the caste system, that we are still following like sheep. Laanat hain.

CasteEdit

Caste and religion still form the most significant social constructs in India and the former, in particular, has been influenced by the Raj census efforts.[7] Although there were certainly some enumerations of caste prior to the arrival of the British, some modern academics, such as Cohn and Dirks have argued that the British, through their census and other works, effectively created the caste system as it exists today.[23] Others, such as Dipankar Gupta, reject this idea, which Gupta says implies that Indians had "no identity worth the name" prior to the colonial period, but acknowledge that the Raj had a significant role in how caste is now practised.[24]

They came here to rule, not to liberate Indians from caste system. The only irony was they became upper caste and then relegated Brahmins to lower caste. It was one the effective mechanisms to keep Indians in line.

It's about time today's Brahmins own up their *ed up history and stop acting like cowards.

Hindi hate to Hindu hate to Brahmin hate. State of Indian liberals today, worst compliers of caste system, no worse jaathivaadis than liberals. No wonder some of the Brahmins are one of poorest in the country while others are so gullibly following a system that Brahmins allegedly created.

Allegedly created?  Yes, Basavanna was fighting ghosts in 12th century.

No wonder they have become champion of Hindutva to cover up their sh!t stained past. I will not be surprised if majority of RSS is comprised of them.

Basavanna was fighting the rich and powerful class, not Brahmins. If Brahmins were a minority in population, (even now) how did they successfully create a caste system that others so meekly complied. It had to be done by a powerful class that wielded power politically.

Yes, ofcourse you are a Bihari. Now it all makes sense.

Most of Basavanna's work was against the Brahminical caste system. He was a Brahmin himself. He came out of that then wretched community and fought for equality.

Bsdk, have you even read Basavanna?

His vachanas mostly are about serving Shiva is only goal in life, he spoke about total devotion and to denounce all Vedic Rituals. He wanted to end the rituals that Vedic proponents were saying is the only way for Bhakti His way was adopted by many of his followers and accepted as a shiva sect of Hinduism - Veerashaivas.

Is it true that Brahma, the creator of Gods made caste system in Hinduism?

Nobody knows, manusmriti talked about chaturvarnas as did some of the puranas. Nobody knows how it was adopted, mostly by kings and rich class that implemented, The rigidity came about much later in 19th century

Le RSS ucchhe kudiyo brahmana naayi, a simple google search will take you to his background and why the then Brahmins resented him and his work. Among other things like superstitions, he wanted to end caste system. If only he hadn't been expelled from his position, Karnataka would have been the first model state to be without castes.

This was happening way back in 12th century when there was no British, so stop acting like a typical cowardly Brahmana and start owning up your sh!t stained history.

He says that I am a RSS piss drinking Brahmin dog. ಬೋಳಿಮಗನೇ, after Basavanna, there were Bhakti proponents like kanakadaasa from lower caste. Just because you have political power after 1950s, let’s you talk like a fukcing lowlife, can’t even read Kannada, talks about language, jaahil kutte.
