I used to dislike Sanga, McGrath and Ponting during their cricket days .

Sanga has turned out to be one of the best analysts out there and bonus he lost his British accent after living in England. redeemed himself.

McGrath comes across as one of the nicest guys out there since his retirement and a guy who devotes his life to charity cannot be unlikeable.

Ponting too has redeemed himself since he has become an analyst.

Sure but even outside of IPL, looks like a genuine guy who speaks his mind. Maybe he just played his game like a take no prisoner ruffian.

Kohli is/was a hothead but out of the ground, he is usually humble and soft spoken which is genuine. obviously he is tuned up the volume these days to over the top buttering of anything and everything for maintaining brand.

I feel we all have a bs meter of varying efficiency that can tell patronizing behavior to genuine. I think Ponting seems like an alright guy.

Look at McGrath, I have seen him push batsmen around, swear and abuse batsmen, backed it up without getting much of a comeuppance ever in his career however decides to pursue a charitable cause as his full time job and comes across as a very sweet guy in every interview.

I understand that everyone is a package deal and even generally good people may let their competitive demons come out while playing under pressure.  Playing hard, confident, arrogant, uncompromising cricket is not the reason for the hate.  Viv Richards played that way too, but is not hated.

It is the peripheral stuff like promoting a team culture of pushing beyond the rules boundaries and vulgar, personal sledges, claiming clear ground catches (RP himself), flicking a bail off and appealing (Langer), instigating Monkey-gate (Symonds) etc.  The last straw was the Srinath incident (yeah, I see the two of them hobnobbing these days but that is beside the point), and hatred is justified.   I have never seen Virat Kohli or any other super-aggressive Indian cricketer cross the limits of decency and personally abuse opponents like that.

As an analyst, RP does not get paid unless he keeps a goodie-two-shoes image.  Great player, sharp mind, class-1 a$$ hole.

Hate is a very strong word n i strongly use it for manju

Why would you hate him? because he called Jadeja bits and pieces? That was the opinion of every fan on this forum and despite that fluke knock Jadeja in LOI's is still bits and pieces. How many Commentators have had the guts to call it like it is.

He even took on Sachin and while I was one of those who hated on him for that, it was refreshing to see someone go against the grain and speak how he feels without being abusive or weird. I think he presents his view points in a good manner even though we disagree with it.

Yes he cheerleads for Mumbai players but then do all commies be it Shastri,Gavaskar or guys like Siva for TN/CSK Players or Bhajji for Punjab players or VVS for SRH Players.

I might disagree with Manju 9/10 times but it is refreshing to see a guy speak his mind rather than towing the BCCI line.

IIRC He even called out Dhoni on his bs strategy.

As a player he didn't justify his potential and rightfully overtaken by other talented players but he wasn't the worst player to play for India by any means. He had more than a decent career than half the commentators that work with him.

u think ill hate him for just his opinion on one player??? really ??? By that logic i shud hate holding to

most mumbai cricketers are cheerleaders but this guy has more issues

  • I hate him for insecure he is
  • I hate him for coz he didnt achieve much so he hides behind a community of mumbai cricket to indirectly prove that he was something
  • I hate him coz he put down player from other cities like pant but when a mumbai player same mistake he wants patience
  • I hate him coz he think indians cant bowl fast
  • I hate him coz of his mindset which represents what was wrong with our cricket in 90s - lack of self belief
  • I hate him for putting a fellow commentator like harsha down and then going and apologizing to producer but not bhogle .
  • I hate his opinion on game which is mostly about how players shud care about their own record
  • He is **** at his job like really ****
  • lacks game sense
  • at-least can work on his content by knowing domestic well but he doesnt
  • hate how he wants cricketer to follow the good boy facade when it isnt even their personality
  • he is *ing annoying

just becoz he had a long career as commentator doesnt mean he is good . The guy gets trolled by fellow commentaors around the world during games time n again

Can't think of one but I dislike Jadeja. Nor is he great, nor do I like him and his fake arse all-rounder status

Jadeja is a test great on his bowling alone and with batting average of 36 makes him a test alrounder as well. He has the third best test batting average for India in last 2-3 years, around 45.

Note that on ICF, Indian cricket and cricketers are mostly discussed (people who hate Pak cricketers, usually, do not go to Pak cricket sites :dontknow: )

Not true. I remember going on Pak forums when Pak lose.

But then again I don't hate Pak players.

Bro stop it. Breathing Jadeja's name among the actual 'greats' should be criminal ...

Steven Smith...

I don't like his stance and painful to see his shots....moreover, we need to see his painful innings for very long...

Guyz like Lara, sachin, inzy, mark Waugh, laxman etc....make the cricket look colourful with their shot making....

But guyz like Steven Smith , Chanderpaul, Jimmy Adams make it look painful

Although he obviously is an all time great of the game, I dislike Kohli. Earlier he was a boorish loudmouth. Now he is a boorish loudmouth with a case of septic foot in the mouth where he feels it necessary to opine on everything under the sun.

I dislike Javed Miandad even more. Not one redeeming quality in that guy.
