Arriving at a conclusion you want and working backwards to prove your conclusion correct by willing it to be true is not the way to do it. The only issue is that time is not at our hands and also I am totally for clinical trials conclusively proving whether this drug works or not. But I want to share individual stories and the group of small studies where it has worked, at least according to those people. Rest, the doctor in USA is authorised to prescribe hcq even for covid-19. it's between the doctor and the patient. I do not get where is the misunderstanding. Param Mastishk Pheeka 1

Physicians are certainly authorized to use their wisdom to prescribe FDA-approved medications for off-label use. I guess the problem some of us have is 2-fold (a) HCQ for CoViD-19 is hyped beyond the current evidence (thanks to Trump and other political figures), resulting in people hoarding it with false prescriptions and depriving on-label users. (b) A lot of the hype in my social media feed is for reasons of cultural/nationalist pride, not science. I am hopeful that reality matches the hype!

Right, hoarding is a bad side-effect of its popularization.

There must be something, some success and if it yielded success in some cases what's harm in using it. At least some success is better than nothing. Daily Net hospitalization have come down drastically in newyork, like from 1200 to 120 per day..in just 4-5 days (will result in great reduction in deaths in coming days) It may be due to hydroxychloroquine usage in early stage in addition to the lockdown, social distancing Edited April 14, 2020 by randomGuy
