(1) Mention of Slavery is present in Vedas.

Detailed rules of slavery are written in Shastras and Smritis.

But slavery in India started to disappear with the influence of Buddhism, till the Muslims conquered India and once again introduced slave markets in India.

(2) Islam got worst type of slavery. Much worse than it's cousins Christianity/Judaism. It was due to the reason while Muhammad took many rules of slavery from his tribal Arab Culture of that time.

In 1400 years history of Islam, there was not a single religious movement to ban slavery, as it was considered as "Halal" of Allah and no human being is allowed to declare that thing Haram which is Halal in Sharia.

 (3) Jesus life and teachings are vague. But if Jesus really existed, then his biggest crime is this that he told his followers that Prophets of Jews were really sent by God and they have to follow the old testament too. And according to old Testament/(Talmud of Jews), slavery was made legal by Allah and the Jewish Prophets fully utilised slavery for their benefits.

Jewish prophets killed all the men of enemies after getting victory, and took all the women and children as slaves (Old Testament).

Therefore, Church in last 2000 years history of Christianity allowed the slavery.

Nevertheless, contrary to Muslims, there were many jewish/chrisitian religious movements, who tried to abolish slavery (especially after the Renaissance in 15th century).

(4) Buddhism:

It seems Buddha disliked caste system and slavery. But it was Asoka only who got the power and he was the first who abolished the BAZARS of slavery (i.e. slave trade) in India. But even Ashoka was unable to demolish slavery completely.  It was due to the reason that wars always took place and all wars brought slaves in one way or the other.

It was only in the 13 century, that the Buddhist governments succeeded in totally abolishing slavery by replacing it with the system of Serfdom.

(5) Sikhism:

No idea.

Seems to be unclear or debatable.

Vandalism.

I have a major dislike for Churchill but its not right to destroy property based on my thoughts. I'd rather remind any Brit who looks down upon India's flaws to look within, starting with this war hero of theirs, who's guts float mighty in the blood of millions of Indians.

Exactly.

History should be learned from, not erased.

Destroying symbols of a by-gone era makes it difficult to preserve history. Its characteristic of authoritarian societies, of empires looking to re-write history from their own dominant perspective.

I visited coronation park in delhi: https://www.tripadvisor.in/Attraction_Review-g304551-d321497-Reviews-Coronation_Durbar_Park-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html

You have statues of king george and many other british rulers from the 'delhi durbar' of the early 1900s...still standing. The plaques are blank, there's no context or explanation. The faces have been obscured (probably on request of the british government, who still have monarchs related to these age-old figures). Worst of all, nobody knows who these people are. I asked some of the locals (who've turned it into a fitness area, lots of keen runners and joggers) - and they told me they had no idea who these 'people' were or what they represented. Some even suggested that these statues are of people belonging to the muslim community (there are some muslim neighborhoods close by). Nobody even knows where this site is. There's half a dozen parks in the area.

In some ways, the 'legacy' of these colonial rulers has become irrelevant and forgotten. And that's probably the best way to 'deal' with this period of history. Instead of actively destroying it, which only reinforces their power and authority.

The west is desperately trying to re-write its own history. Now we have american intellectuals in claiming that 'african americans' or slaves from africa made america a democratic country. This is a complete lie. Democracy - or the concept of voting rights - originated from the demands of private property owners. Slaves never owned property.

The west is also trying to re-make its image - from that of a predominantly european, judeo-christian population - to a multi-racial and multi-religious society. They are creating multiple underclasses (LGBT, transgenders) to divide the working classes even further. It makes no sense, and their attempt to look egalitarian will only fail if they struggle to compete with the more homogenous, civilization state that is china.
