Rightarmfast Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 But this is way better than the cringy anti Pakistan ads that we have these days. Nikhil_cric 1

Norman Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 The emotional connect people used to have towards this team can never be matched sadly. Everyone looked like they were giving their all for the team and the country. They actually felt like "Team India" whenever they stepped onto the field. The current lot just look like 11 pretentious individuals playing only for their places and egos, believing in their superstardom going by their following on SM despite their non-existent personalities. Nikhil_cric Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Great stuff . Iirc , Sehwag was the only one not to feature in the pepsi ads because he was contracted to Coca Cola and there were those "Sehwag ke thande funde" ads. Again , the details are hazy , but that World Cup had issues with World Cup sponsors clashing with individual cricketers' sponsors etc. Not only Sehwag but the entire Aussie team, who were sponsored by Travelex had issues with one of the CWC sponsors. Very interesting times and ads and far superior to the garbage ads we have nowadays.

Agreed. But I would exclude the fast bowlers from that list. They genuinely do look like down to earth and players who give their best.
