In a complete history outlook, India is relatively very tolerant nation, and welcome to all cultures. We are the only country with such a unique mix of cultures. We did not necessarily welcome all cultures. We allowed some cultures to dominate us because a few selfish kings took the easy way out and helped invaders. What do you call untouchability or the feeling of one caste being superior to another? That is intolerance defined.

Forget Kali mata or lord shiva, the reason why Ram and Krishna are shown in blue color is apparently they were so dark skinned that it almost looked like a blue shade. May be the $$$ over shadowed his “pride” ??? personally I feel dusky looking Indian women are way more attractive than Indian women who are way too fair almost look like caucasians. I know this is a new Me too and by that I don’t mean it as a disrespect to any victims either from me too or racial discrimination. This is a new way for everyone to jump on the bandwagon. However Sammy was not a victim. He was payed for what he was worth (doesn’t sound good especially in a sensitive matter concerning African Americans), it doesn’t seem to me he was discriminated in any team activity or during lunch/dinner. He was not a rookie. So if he thought there was malice against him, he should have stood up for himself. This seems just too convenient of a timing.

In my adulthood, I was mocked for my skin color only two times till date. Both times happened in US by blacks. Those incidents are still fresh on my mind. As an Indian, I have been at the receiving end of some hostilities, insensitivity, from them, and they were educated ones. Maybe it is also lack of cultural training or awareness, as other ethnicity are more restrained in making certain personal comments. Nevertheless, they do have contempt for many communities and where my opinion or other ethnicity ones gets quickly shut

In many sports (be it school, grassroots, club level), some gets in the squad because of his perceived athleticism through skin color. Is that reserve of racism? Even in IPL, there are always some unknowns, and these players are tagged all-rounders and come again with their perceived athleticism. They happily do the water-boy services as well, or play the sub fielder.
