Mayank must average big.  He had a Monster two series at home vs Saffers & BD.  Rohit failed vs BD.  Part of me wants to see him vs English spinners..  He would smash them into next galaxy.

Mayank is literally Bradman at home, averages 99.5

I think Mayank may actually do really well if he plays this series. But unfortunately doesn't have a spot as lol is going to be back. In this series, lol may be the most hyped and least effective Indian batsman (bar Rahane). Gill, Rohit, Pujara are monsters par excellence in Indian conditions.

Want to see this XI play at least once in India:

Mayank

Rohit

Che

Kohli

Gill

Pant

Jaddu

Ash

Umesh

Shami

Bumrah

Rahane is so bad on Indian pitches :wall:

Why no Siraj? Is Shami fit to play? I would rather rest Bumrah, maybe just play him in 1 or 2 tests max. Give others a chance

Not talking about this series, won't happen because of injuries. I want this XI to play together at least once, maybe against NZ in Sep this year. On paper this is probably our strongest XI at home, and who knows how long Umesh, Ash, Shami will stick around!!!!!

Coming to the Eng series, I want Siraj to start. Also eager to see Bumrah on Indian pitches, he is yet to play at home. 3rd spinner or pacer or A/R depends on pitch tbh, only TM can make the correct call at the toss.

5 50s in his last 7 innings in India, including a critical 115 vs SA at Ranchi when we were 39/3..let's see if he has reversed the trend (provided Kohli doesn't bench him)

This. The greatest Indian team at home.

No Bumrah, Pujara, Rahane, Gill and Mayank playing out of positions, 5 players will total 40 tests between them but the greatest team at home?

Brilliant team for all Condtions honestly. If Mayank can sort out his technique and go back to his 2018 self, he will be a beast again in bouncy wickets as well. Not sure about swing Condtions though.

Hope so, he played Lyon better in Aus, hope that gives him some confidence against far inferior spinners in Moeen, Leach, Bess, Root.

We are GOAT home bullies. Play whoever and wherever you want. We will always win :p:

Rahane is poor at home btw. Shaw will hit hundreds for fun at home. Mayank is facing the new bowl at no.6. Bumrah has not played a single game at home as of today so can be ignored as of today.

Ofcourse we are GOAT at home. The key is to sustain because teams will come harder and better prepared as years go on.

The bench looks pretty good for most spots, however going forwards we will need a replacement for Ashwin. Dont see any breakaway finger spinner in the country as of now.
