South Africa captain De Kock takes 'mental health' break

South Africa captain Quinton de Kock will take a 'mental health' break and skip a forthcoming domestic Twenty20 tournament on medical advice. ;Andrew Breetzke, chief executive of the SA Cricketers' Association (SACA), told the ESPNcricinfo website De Kock would take time off from the game "for a few weeks".

 

Bio secure bubbles for extended period of time seems to be the reason. Even Suresh Raina couldn't take it and went back home.

He probably didn't want to play domestic league just like how Aussie players don't play BBL. I guarantee his mental health will be fine when IPL starts

Nothing wrong in it. if you are rewarded handsomely for suffering in a bio secure bubble you probably will go through with it.

If he enjoys playing IPL more than playing for SA then fair enough,,no need to take potshots at him. He doesnt look like a leader and maybe too much is expected of him at SA cricket and he is wilting under that. Better to enjoy the game then give up on it.

Of course he would, everyone loves a bit of money and there is more chance of silverware under Bambani than SA.

From what I could read he is just skipping a domestic tournament. Many cricketers around the world do it, he is not representing SA in a domestic tournament, I presume the pay will be less too. So if his mind in not in it & if he is not even going to represent his country whats wrong in skipping it?

AB is arguably their best player ever. This dude is in decent form recently. MI ll drop his ass like many players before once he starts failing. Need INTL team to keep his practice lol. He is not a veteran like AB.
