He might still perform here and there in England but what’s the point, they have a huge bench strength.

they shud use this bench strength correctly then, play right bowlers for right conditions. 

Broad n anderson can run through lineups at home so till they can win games at home why not, winning at home is also important. Going to a place like Aus they shud look at archer, Wood, Stone .

 

Same ishant and umesh case. Use umesh at home and ishant overseas to get the best out of them

Archer, Woakes, Curran, Wood and mark my words this guy Ollie Stone will be a big name .

 

In 4-5 years from now. He will be better than Rabada and Cummins of today.

They won’t miss Broad. He was a great servant of English cricket though. Time to hang up his boots. He will be remember as a great bowler but not in the ATG category like his bowling partner.

He's 28 this year, more likely to have retired in 5 years than be hitting any generational heights.

Strange a Rohit supporter is talking this way about home dominance. It is still important for them to win home matches, not everyone can repeat broad's performances in England. Look at the one home match Broad didn't play in last season

None of those have the x factor of Broad. On his day he can run through the opposition line up, turn the match on its head in a single spell. Woakes, Curran, Wood are good bowlers who can support and take timely wickets but they can't do what broad does. Even Archer seem to have regressed in tests since Ashes. Too early to say anything about Olly stone. 

 

Broad has always been bad in india, but he wasn't that bad in last two matches. They just weren't pacers pitches and he was also unlucky

Broad always struggled in India, this time I thought he bowled marginally better. That is his level, his failure doesn't surprise me, just like how Rabada's failure in Pak in the recent test series was expected (getting outclassed by that generator Ali was still  ). They are country greats and integral part of their team's success but not all-conditions bowlers like Steyn, McGrath, Marshall etc. Many coolies on this forum love to put SENA HTBs on a pedestal whilst mocking Indian bowlers (esp spinners). What's new?

 

Anyway coming to topic, Broad will be a handful in Eng/RSA for another 2-3 years at least. When we tour Eng this year Broad will be our #1 threat, then Andu/Woakes, third tier->Archer/Wood/Stone/Curran can be tackled more easily. Broad is an elite HTB and I respect that, any team must first make its home a fortress before thinking of world domination. Broad (aided by Andu) ensured Eng lost only 2 series in the 2010s (only India ranks better), so yeah respect.

Archer is good but he has poor stamina. He is a 2 to 3 test player at best. 

Woakes is only good in England as a bowler

Curran is a trundler

 

I will mark your words. Stone will be mediocre very soon. He is also extremely brittle and injury prone. 

 

He won't be near umesh level let alone bumrah Cummins shami rabada. Level.
