I have the ticket for even day 5 We did not go yesterday due to the security arrangements and long queues, today lost interest as we saw us losing wickets in a heap. We have decided not to buy the tickets for the next test or for any of the T20Is. That's why any deal with China needs some Gujju intellect. Only they can squeeze penny from Chinese where rest of the world struggles.

Next test should last at least 3 days now as no more pink ball. It will make a huge difference.

In terms of historic sites, there is a beautiful step well - Adalaj Vav, that is worth a stop. The famous mosque has beautiful 'jaali' work if that is interesting to you. The step well was top class for me. Time permitting the Sun Temple at Modhera is not too far a drive - I loved visiting that. There is an aunt who used to make nice ragda patties ... never caught on with dabalis

Based on a small sample of people I know who had tickets for the weekend, do not be surprised to see largely empty stands in the next test. Everyone was excited for even the next test and would have bought the tickets, now there is no chance any of them are going back.

My Maasi lived within walking distance, but have now since moved away. Btw, you aren't eating bhel, pani puri etc in A'bad. You are eating gujju mutations of those things. Will soon be back to my base in Delhi though
