Yes, that is the fundamental issue. The ICC has tried to thread the needle by introducing Umpires call for those situations. Personally, I think this is a great solution. But it seems to cause cricket watchers a lot of distress.

Frankly, I wonder if we wouldn’t be better served by simply changing the graphics so it doesn’t show a trajectory, but instead shows a probability cloud. Basically, just a large shaded patch of red color, with the darkness of the pixel representing the probability that the ball will end up at that location.

Seeing all the pink in areas where the ball completely misses the stumps may help naive observers understand why it’s umpire’s call in that situation.

See in that case they should not use DRS for LBW. Having two outcomes for same projected trajectory might lead to umpiring bias.

Crowd putting pressure of scoring 50th run on the batsman:lol:

There looks like a crowd of at most 50 at the ground lol. Ironic. :hysterical:

Impressive from Sundar so far..  On his way to play 3rd clutch knock in his short test career when team needs most.  These are the kind of players we need more.

NO.

DRS has improved the ability of the right decision being made.

One of the most important 50s Pant would score in his test career.

In the context of the WTC most definitely.

This is effectively a SEMI FINAL.

No problems, Im always happy to help to explain and assist you in understanding the game.

You need to take 20 wickets generally speaking to win a game of test match cricket.

First to understand game better before teaching others. Not every player will perform in every match or series. You seem to have problem in grasping that point.

But the entire middle order is in a rut... You will more often than not lose matches if you are adament in not replacing them.

Should bat at 3 or 4 in the next innings. But will Kohli's ego allow this to happen?

Come on Uncle, I am always happy to make you understand the game better.

No one expects players to always performing in every match or series, its as a batting unit or bowling unit they should though.

Good, youre understanding is gradually improving. You will get there. Keep the questions and comments coming.

Are they old to be replaced, no they are not old. You don't replace your core players based on one bad series.

Exactly this is the point he is missing.

Hmmm... So, you replace them only when they get old not when they are in rut. Sums it up really...
