I doubt, Police babus can singlehandedly digest this income. Infact amount that is being discussed sounds more like politician and election fund. I also feel that its a joke that they got CPU, they got money counting machine, they got everything but cash recovered is just Rs 6 lakh. . Its not supply line, I think someone has got the a big share of supply itsel( most likely BJP). No wonder Pawar isn’t happy with performance of SS henchman. Yes some hawaldars might demand some money and ask for a free drink etc. But nothing like 2 lakhs a month. The real source of money for Mumbai police is drugs....be it looking the other way or selling stuff like weed on the open market. I have a friend who is involved with the BMC and he tells me the lines of hafta are clear. Construction or permits especially for slum rehab are with BMC. Drugs are with the police. This whole thing started cause the NCP typically likes to ensure that they dont **** where they eat. They will pull scams in mumbai and places like viderbha and then keep western maharashtra clean. It causes zero political impact to them. But their partners Shiv sena (Mumbai) and Congress (Viderbha) have to pay the political price. Sena typically will directly deal with corporates or major contractors via union pressure. They are very careful not to target smaller retailers. ravishingravi 1

Pawar wanted to go with BJP (as did his party) but wanted Fadnavis gone as he wanted to pull the strings from the shadows. Maybe the Anil Deshmukh case has changed his stance.... Still feel BJP if at all should go with Sena. NCP will do corruption on grand scale and you will be left with the big ball of poop. Though best option would be to go alone.

The owners at Bata had gone on record saying that they got extortion calls and the cops basically asked them to pay up to avoid trouble etc. They claimed that a nexus existed between the cops and the goons allegedly sent by the supremo who ran the remote control government. BJP needs to make some inroads there apart from Shiv Sena gardh of Konkan and Marathwada. Or else 140-150 will be very hard.
