46 overs of pace...india defended 329 as compared to being crushed in odi 2.

 

The reason? The extra pacer and Hardik bowling as the sixth bowler. Allowed Kohli options up front.

 

Same line up also would have defended odi 2.

 

Play the conditions...you know that kohli loses the toss and you will mostly bat second.

i think we could have defended this much easier.

why dont you bowl thakur in middle overs and finish his spell and let death over specialist like nattu bowl at end ?

 

what did they accomplish by saving his overs at end against curran who always hits thakur.

 

as for attack i feel sundar and jadeja will play as spinners in future and give much needed depth..quicks you have plenty to choose from but thakur is one of kind who constantly gets wickets in middle..need to use him wisely.

I was the happiest person when I saw that we were going in with 4 out and out Pacers along with Hapa.

There is no business in playing spinners in odis in India nowadays with the dew factor ,ultra flat pitches, short boundaries and 2 new balls unless ofr course you have a great spinner in your rank (like kulcha were for that 2 year period)

But overall real crap bowling by Prasidh, Krunal , Nattu except for the last over. 

Krunal is a total wrong selection for 50 overs .

Nattu is not death over specialist but the death itself if you believe he is.

I think the personel can be changed.

 

Jaddu and bumrah will solve those issues.

 

But the key point is to back your pacers in conditions in which spinners have issues.

 

I am sure there will be decks where spinners make more sense. Play spinners there.

What if Bumrah and Bhuvi are injured during key ICC events  ?

 

We need to create adequate backups. 

 

Filling the team with short swing bowlers won't help us and won't provide any variety to the attack.
