The same was said during Sachin's days as well. I can see even more casual fans in cricket now then it was before the IPL. Most of these casual cricket fans love their favourite cricketer so much and think that this cricketer is the savior of the team he represents. Some even thinks the game is famous because of their fav cricketer. I'm not sure if this trend changes anytime soon.

No,Kohli is definitely the last

Just see the fanboyism magnitude decreasing with each generation

On social media you will bot armies for even Dube Samson Siraj and like of Mukesh Kumar ,that doesn't reflect much of the true picture

With passage of time I believe that hero loyalists will reduce

I can see it from Sachin to Dhoni to Kohli

I think Kohli will be the last superstar of Indian cricket by fans, there may one or two or few appear in future who'll be superstars by their performances and that will be good for Indian cricket

They will come and watch cricket but hero fan girlgiri may reduce

Hope so but until I see it happen I will still have doubts.

Sachin sir

Kohli sir

God sir

Dhoni sir God sir I build temple for you.

What I noticed is nobody likes bowlers from casual fans. Only glorify overrated batsmen.

Considering india has had the best or top 2 attack in tests and odi since 2014 and batting has conversely declined, we are seeing less fanboyism overall. In saying that we still have kohli and rohitbhakts

Simple reason, most of the casual fans don't understand cricket and just go with where social media hype is. And empty vessels makes the most noise.

BCCI has ensured the batters remain the face of Indian Cricket, and are marketing accordingly.

I doubt,

BCCI will for sure latch from Kohli to someone else, and that will be the new face.

Just wait for 2 more years...Gill looks a likely candidate.

People don't understand what I'm talking about

Gill doesn't have the Kohli personality besides that like movies people won't be that attached to a certain star

There will be a time, when there will no superstar in Indian cricket not by performance but by fans

I believe Kohli will be last, offcourse Gill is one whom they will groom but I don't think hewll have that draw

Reddy bowling faster than Bhuvi and Unadkut and sane pace as Natarajan. Still a trundler tough but if he can bat like that and maybe have some skills like swing etc, a good prospect.

134-138kph aint trundling, he's quite skiddy, just 20 years of age.

134-138 without any additional skills is the worst form of trundling. Guys like Unadkut, Sakariya can atleast be useful on slow pitches but as I said if he can swing and seam and watching his batting especially under pressure that would be an extreme bonus.

Nitish is a teenage prodigy from Andhra. Played u19 at the age of 16. He is a good seam alround prospect and needs to be monitored by BCCI.

Any batter who could bowl should be kept an eye on, Add alot to the team even if they donot bowl every match.

A top order batter bowling 134-138kph is only gonna be a asset, not all pitches are gonna be like ipl flat tracks, clearly he has some skill and nip. Trundlers bowl at 127-130kph ramge.

My impression of Nitish, at least based on FCs, was that he's a bowling AR. If he has become a batting AR, then the current pace is fine.

However, for a bowling AR, he will need to add both more skills and pace.

He looks more like a batting AR. But thankfully his bowling is not at Vijay Shankar or Venkatesh Iyer's level.

Thankfully Pandya has some competition, first Raj Bawa & now Nitish Reddy.
