If they couldn't control the spread, at least they could make sure that basics were in place. Every death that happens due to lack of oxygen or medicine or a hospital bed is blood on the hands of the central and state govts. It looks like there is no govt. Modi yesterday talked with Johnson about Defence related stuff. Is he blind ? What has got into this man. Looks like he lives in some other world. Looks like he has given up . https://www.aninews.in/news/world/asia/pm-modi-johnson-agree-to-enhance-india-uk-defence-partnership20210504230838 @beetle ji, What nfo comes in media, comes after few days. We know +tivity rate is near 50%. If you take a country like India and do the numbers, You know that battle is lost. Somewhere during Feb March 2021, someone either did botched job or wasnt doing the job of collecting Covid positivity rate data. The so called Aangan vaade workers who were trained to do tests werent monitored. beetle 1

Also, On a NDTV panel during a discussion, a couple of days ago, the same question was raised. One of the panellists, a doctor, said something to the tune of: by early 30s general lung functionality is lesser in Delhi than it is in Mumbai. On an average Delhi has 3x thrice the number of air impurities that Mumbai does. And that Mumbai is also in the red not only compared to what are acceptable world standards but also among Indian cities. Basically, Delhi needs more ventilators and Oxygen for the same number of covid cases cause the propensity of the patient's condition to head south quickly is drastically more than that of a Mumbai resident. That is just a theory , we need to get ground data on the number of patients and their o2 needs. I liked SC intervention in this matter, but it is still not working out with all states demanding more oxygen. Mumbai and other states also set up it's own cryogenic o2 plants while Delhi sat on their dwindling thumbs waiting for other states to supply them o2, there was only one plant set up when at least 8 were sanctioned from the centre.

It needs a variety of professionals taking months of hardwork. On;y companies with a record of producing vaccines should be allowed to produce. Plus why are they concerned about vaccine production when they can't even distribute fairly what is given to them till now. Their admin should distribute vaccines, meds and o2 efficiently. But our guy has a mouth and a lot of media to listen to him blabber.

NDTV and its panelist . So they meant to say average life expectancy of people in Mumbai is drastically more then that of Delhi or lung patients in Delhi are drastically more compared to Mumbai. Or it is same and reasin could be of local train where every day Mumbai Manush travels and struggles to breathe lowering lung quality and hence data matches

My post isn't an endorsement of the performance of the Delhi government. I am assuming that a doctor has the necessary data when he makes this point. It was more about the differences between the second wave in Delhi and Mumbai. Let me see if I can link you up with the panel discussion.
