ipl is fun Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 I don't think this is the first time, we seem to be playing wrong format ahead of ICC tournament. Are we using IPL as match practice (worse thing to do!!!) Our B team plays SL in T20 WI played/plays SA, AUS, PAK in T20 PAK vs Eng, WI Doesn't make sense.

IPl is decent preparation but since our Team is far from settled thanks to Captain... Free loaders will sneak into the main XI. Rohit Shikhar Virat... These three are main worries. I'd put Poyzz as favorites if these three play together & followed by Iyer

Always struggled in T20Is barring a brief period in 2017-18. Should not be in T20 teams irrespective of how he does in IPL. Rahul is a much better T20 player. A good captain-coach will ask him to shed his inhibitions and go berserk at the top. The guy can be a proper match winner in LOIs if handled properly. Lord 1

Kohli opened in the last series vs england and was our best player in the series (MOTS) while Rahul was struggling. According to me Rahul plays the best when he has to attack from ball one, so a middle order spot preferably. Kohli and Rohit as openers is really a great move.

He plays cautiously when he opens he needs a middle order spot to show his shots.

Scored 40 ball 50s and only in 19th-20th over accelerated to end up with decent SRs, not outs and pad up his average. We saw how that approach unfolded for Dhoni. But for Kishan, SKY, Pandya those Kohli 50s would have been match losing innings
Serpico Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 kl can't hit spinners, opposition captains know they can tie down our top order by simply bringing spinners. in ipl it works out because mayank and gayle are spinner killers. rohit-kl-kohli is just too predictable for top order kishan/pant/shaw should open with rohit. rahul can come at 5
