Even better idea. Auctions in January, a 2 week long qualifications tournament to run exactly at the time of their league. Star Sports would fully back such a project.

 

For all his faults, if Lalit Modi was still in charge of IPL, he would have ruthlessly made sure such a thing happened.

Don't worry. You'll soon see IPL matches first  in Jammu and then in Srinagar once the cricket infra improves further.

 

Jammu hosted Ranji Trophy quarter finals as recently as Feb 2020, watched by 10000+ spectators. Next time it will be Srinagar

Hosting matches is very grim when you consider the oppression of Kashmiris under the current BJP regime. They deserve Azadi, hosting matches is just a diversion tactic to make the situation sound better. If India had the guts, it would hold a plebiscite, but they don’t.
