Thakur is unsung hero of 2 incredible victories. Even at GABBA when nothing seemed happening in 2nd innings of Australia with Warner-Harris looking set for their respective half centuries,he came and produced a wicket and within span of half hour,they were four down. Sometimes gets wickets on innocuous balls,Luck or whatever you say,his perseverance is the difference between Good & bad luck. Nasser Hussain nicely summed up yesterday,"Everyone was saying Why Thakur? That's Why Thakur,because he picks up useful wickets and gets useful runs".

Watched the highlights of his innings on youtube. The edges and play and misses are not shown in highlights usually. Even hack Azam Khan looks good on highlights package  Having said that Thakur seems to have  played proper shots on the front as well as back foot. There is some lack of foot movement but then that would be too much of expectation from someone who is not a specialist batsman. What matters is he is scroing runs at better average than Rahul, Kohli, Rahane, Pujara in this series.  It will be interesting to see whether he scores on spin friendly wickets as well as bouncy wickets.  Sundar and Thakur playing clutch knocks will  be very much beneficial. Also good to see that Bumrah  is no more a  sitting duck with bat in hand. The tail adding useful runs  with Sundar and Thakur are good signs.
