indians outside india like to disparage india but are the first ones to jump for joy and celebrate when indians in india achieve something.

they can't celebrate their adopted countries excellence cause they are not really of that country (even if they have citizenship/born there) because they are eternal outsiders and not really seen as members of that country.

and then they resort to celebrating indians who have come up within the indian system.

they should actually look to celebrate indians who have come up in a foreign system but then again there is not much anything to celebrate is there.

Developed countries have all managed sportings events relatively well whether it is Euro or Tokyo Olympics. ECB will handle crisis relatively well.

I don't see that good handling by the ECB.

Moreover, they have handled their cricketing talent very poorly over the years. Run their team to the ground from time to time for the last 35 years.

Eng hosted NZ recently, no issues. India comes, issues.

Were matches cancelled? Moved to another country?

The main duty of a professional cricket board is to develop cricket in it's own country.

It's professionalism will be primarily judged by that aspect.

NZ played just 3 tests ... India played 5 tests in England without incident.

And the role of ECB in this crisis is raising a lot of value questions.

SA had issues when England travelled.

Exactly

IPL in early 2021: all covid positive cases were Indian players

Australia Tour: Indian players breaking covid protocols

Sri Lanka Tour: all covid positive cases were Indian players

England Tour: Indian Team management/support staff test positive for covid

It should have been but they get away with much worse.

Why? Did the continuation of these matches result in an outbreak in more English players or Pakistan players?

That is not what is being discussed. India has a large talent pool, large population, cricket is the primary sports, but still has not produced an ATG level team like WI of 80s and the Aus of 00.

Also IPL has been hit with match fixing issues.

Because other teams do not look to create incidences. The issue here is that Indian players despite being COVID negative and facing same risks as others decided to leverage on the opportunity to head to UAE early for IPL, putting convenience over team in a series which team Ind could have won.

Going around in circles.

And the players leveraged on that to move to UAE early in time for IPL ... Chartered planes were immediately made available for some, highlighting on-going discussions with franchises ... Fans in India can make these guys feel entitled but not others

Yesterday this kind of post was tolerable since frustration, emotions, incomplete info etc....now all have had one full day to think. Be better ICFers, :heart:da forfeit....as such ECB, goras, pakeez, India/BCCI haters are running a campaign against us, either stick together (aka back BCCI's decision) or GTFO.

You are trigger happy in assigning blame to India, because some of the staff happened to unfortunately contract a viral contagion during a global pandemic.  Your biases are distorting your ability to interpret information.  Too much time in Trudeau land.

All that is conjecture. The fact is that the players are COVID negative. English players are at equal risks.

COVID test were already conducted. It came negative.

You clearly don't understand how COVID testing and the virus incubation period works.

Keep spouting silliness.

I have sympathies for anyone catching COVID. My main concerns are a) if precautionary protocols were followed (for e.g. if I am traveling, I would not be running to bars or restaurants like many from the squad did in Aus and Eng), and b) not playing the 5th test (as already discussed) and using the incident to arrive in UAE early for IPL

Teams play cricket at a high frequency throughout the year (domestics, tests, LOIs), so a team is usually at one place or the other.

What has that got to do with the price of uncensored news in China?

Physio tested positive for covid - squad and team members were at direct risk.  They have the legal right to mitigate that risk to self and family.  And they exercised their legal right.  You can keep crying about it due to whatever reason and spin conspiracy theories.

Keep yourself entertained with those thoughts. The world is not buying it  ... Unless there is a severe risk like in countries like India, the game usually goes on ... Below is an example from the recent Euro:

GOTHENBURG, Sweden — Two players in Sweden's squad for the European Championship have tested positive for the coronavirus, the team said Tuesday, three days before the start of the tournament.

PRAGUE, June 17 (Reuters) - Slovakia defender Denis Vavro and another staff member have tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the team's Euro 2020 match against Sweden, head coach Stefan Tarkovic said on Thursday.

Croatia's Ivan Perisic has tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss Monday's Euro 2020 last-16 match against Spain in Copenhagen.

PS Because Ind tries to “manufacture” its criteria, I hope that if unfortunately an Ind player gets COVID during the IPL and/or T20WC, the players would chose to walk away from the games and return to India immediately!

Talk logic. If you are close contact of a Covid positive, would you be playing cricket or isolating yourself worrying that you don't become positive.

Or running away to Dubai in plane for money

If they isolated in UK in fear of covid it could be understood

But rather than isolating and getting tested again they had no issue in running away to dubai
