Indian players have played the worst prank on their countrymen

These clowns were frightening of covid till yesterday and in night took a flight to Dubai

Do they think we fans are fool waiting for prestigious test series win

Icc should declare engalnd the winner

Someone should go to court against Kohli and bcci and fire Kohli and ganguly

No.

Sure take action against Kohli, Shastri, manager etc. (after proper investigation and giving all involved parties a chance to explain themselves) but series stands 2-1.

If ECB behaves, we play a test next year. If not, we give them cold shoulder treatment. Simple.

ECB can’t openly ask or force India to forfeit just to get insurance money. It is called insurance fraud. It is like calling a murder , a natural death, just to get the insurance money. No company will pay 40 mil lbs , ECB will have to lawyer up to get that money.

Yesterday this kind of post was tolerable since frustration, emotions, incomplete info etc....now all have had one full day to think. Be better ICFers, :heart:da forfeit....as such ECB, goras, pakeez, India/BCCI haters are running a campaign against us, either stick together (aka back BCCI's decision) or GTFO.

Agree. I too was angry at the whole situation. I was being selfish. I was planning to go to Manchester to watch the match. This is a top team and to have them here was a privilege and great opportunity to see the stars live.
This sudden development if Shastri & support staff getting infected and the sudden cancellation of the match came out of the blue. And frustration came out on the team, players & BCCI.

Whatever happens is for the best. ECB cannot be holier than thou as it has ditched series itself in SA citing sane reasons.

However, as I’m the designated “Tin Foil Hat” wearer of ICF, I can’t help but thinking of a conspiracy angle…

In the 4 months of stay in UK, Shastri and support staff were unlucky ( or Shall we say very lucky) to get infected just during the end of 4th match while all the players they’d been interacting with continued to show Negative Covid… You’d expect that no players participating in IPL can afford to get positive as it’ll jeopardise the event again. Which BCCI cannot afford again to happen.

So best wishes for the upcoming IPL…

If it’d would’ve been a plan, it was very well thought and executed plan. Some sort of Jailbreak plan…

Definitely the time to stick together for us Indians.

All this bullying and negative press against us must be defeated.

They could have easily accepted the BCCI proposal yesterday. Maybe even added a T20 next summer and they'd be covering this loss plus making extra 100 million pounds in less than a month.

But no, their motive seems to be different. As @sandeep said there is the Hundred angle as well. Allowing even the Indian non-mainstays can go a long way in helping their product.

They have been screwing us over in ICC boardroom since circa 2016, check what happened in 2017, when we were at our weakest (Giles Clarke vs SC appointed clowns) they changed the revenue model and also that constitution revamp. ECB getting ICC event hosting rights more than us, threats to our home WC over tax issues.....our real enemy.

Exactly ,after a rethink and checking facts it's crystal clear the BCCI has a more strong case than the ECB who clearly have more loopholes in this case.

If ECB stays arrogant ,then they'll be subjected to the iron rod treatment. I think this case has a potential to sour the relationship between the boards for a brief period.

Shastri ,kohli and The backroom staff need to get a kick on their arse .

All said and done we should back our players and board (even if reluctantly) especially since there is a vile campaign going on against our Board by The usual suspects.

Thankfully some sane minds (like KP) have exposed ECBs hypocrisy .

Not to forget that evil Shashank Manohar who took out all his “Khunnas” at BCCI when he was heading ICC. He actually behaved as a British appointed Indian Babu of pre-Independence…

I’d the bad memory of seeing him entering The Oval from the VIP side entrance at the CT18 Finals which we lost to Paks… His pig like face actually set the tone for the whole day…

The pathetic replies above just shows poor mentality of Desis

Everything is not about patriotism

Racism bullying

We had a great chance to win test series robbed by money hungry players

Unfortunately for many in subcon (Ind, Pak, etc.), patriotism is displayed through cricket while ruining the region in other matters.

I remember when Amir, Asif, etc., were caught for fixing, there were shows in Pak trying to support those players.

It is not implausible to think that since IPL starts on Sep 19, the key players found a reason to be in Dubai early at the expense of India (ironically, these guys will be supported by many in the name of patriotism).

None of us supporting Indians are doing it out of patriotism, but because they are humans anxious about contracting the virus for themselves and their families. If England could do it in SA, why should India play with that anxiety?

Why should India forfeit? They can accommodate a test next year and a few T20s which is more than enough for the loss of revenue here. ECB is using ICC to armtwist BCCI into giving more than they can bargain

Eng in SA was a different time period. These guys have been in Eng since a long time and played a lot of tests. There is no additional risk of playing the 5th test. If you test negative 3 days before your flight, you can travel to most countries too.

I am more into punishing instigating players, who used this to be early in Dubai.

In subcon, there are always excuses. Late -> traffic. Park in no parking -> did not see the sign as it is hard to reach. Run a red light -> it was amber/yellow when I crossed. Most of the posts are excuses that not many should buy.

Lol ,If you are concerned about us winning then why do you want us to forfeit it.

this will get a few likes but is a depressingly sad comment. he wanted to win on the cricket field not the boardroom.

1)    How is the region being ruined in other areas by this particular incident  ?

And in other area, generally speaking, India has made lots of progress in many different areas. We have the 3rd highest GDP in the world in terms of purchasing power parity and are among the top 6 in tems of nominal GDP.

What this means is that good and services are being produced / provided significantly and people are working hard to this end.

I see infrastructure developing by the month in most parts of India.

Yes, we have lots of areas to further improve in. Lots more work needs to be done. But positive steps are being taken and lots of improvement have been seen in the last 20 years.

2)  How is this incident even remotely comparable to fixing !!!!!

There has been an actual Covid outbreak among the support staff and players have been in close contact with the junior physio. And the incubation period for contracting Covid is not over.

This is a very real problem.

easier for us to sit on our armchairs and compare times. They are the ones in the field and on the ground. They are entitled to their fears. Workplace anxiety is foremost in most corporate policies to handle (OSHA). They are within their rights to address fears

Yes, if it can be proven. Now, it is all hearsay and conspiracy theory. Yes, they went early because the more they stay in that hotel , who knows how many gets affected.

not in any way connected to what happened here. You think they are giving excuses to not fight to get an elusive series victory?
