Look at the difference between England white and red ball squad especially the morale in the team. Morgan helped revolutionise England white ball game,look at few examples of either Hales or Moeen Ali who is a regular in English white ball cricket but is on and off in the red ball team. The test team has a senior culture with Anderson and Broad dominating proceedings, Morgan has created a progressive environment in the English white ball teams. If anything Root should be in the squad instead of Malan, unlike us with Rohit, Rahul and Kohli they do not want to carry many tuk tuk players especially at the top.

vvvslaxman Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 T20 game is all about being in form. Look at Pandya who is supposedly whacking bowlers in death overs is hardly timing anything. Ideally you need to have about 6 or 7 players who don't take more than 4 or 5 balls to get going. If you have lower order who can hit the long ball it will make you invincible.

Im not a fan of Rohit inn t20 but root better then him are u kidding me

Even currently Rohit is better as he still has the ability to dominate on his day. Root hasn't had any sort of run in T20I since 2015.. Except in the WT2016 Where he showed what he can do on flat beds like Wankhede. He would probably don the Orange Cap in IPl easily. Such is his range & would love faster outfields & small grounds in India. His ability & natural talent in limited overs is way way bigger than Kane & Smith.

Yes he might have scored a lot but he wouldn't ever have become as good as peak Kohli or Rohit in this format. VK was an absolute beast for a good 6-7 years (2013-19) , won two MOTS in two WT20s and is still going good in the T20is. And Rohit scored what? Like 4/5 hundreds between 2015 and 2019? Yes he wasn't that consistent but always had a really high ceiling as a T20 batter and probably has even now. Max Root could have done is maybe become a slightly downgraded version of Babar Azam with those consistent 40 ball 50s but that's about it.
