No, we should have Gill batting at 6. It's a super important position and we should have a stroke maker who can come in and play his shots there. V Iyer is meant for opening and he can use the powerplay better than Gill/Rahul.

We need a power hitter at 6. What will Gill do at 6? I rather pick a Harshal Patel at 6 than going with Gill at that position .

If they rest Pant, then Kohli, Shami, Jaddu, Bumrah, Hitman, KL should all be rested too.

 

I wouldnt be against Pant being rested as it will allow us to prepare a back up keeper for Team India.

What form? Pant scored 400+ runs in the IPL this year.. Ishan's form was in IPL 2020

Pant looks like he is slightly off the top form he showed. Keeping wise, both are doing well. Besides, being on the road as a captain in the IPL, he probably needs a break too.
