And only Kohli made runs against Pakistan, sheds light on our so called premier t20 players or may I call them IPL shooperstars.

There as been a genuine effort to alter babar's personality and image building thru pr and grooming, last night saw a bit of kohli like celebrations from babar, looked very unnatural and manufactured, all these dressing room speeches and visiting  opponents after the game happens all the time, documenting it is a clear effort by PCB to come across as larger than life and trying to portray humility after victory, it seems a bit over the top for a team that has not won a bilateral odi series against a top 4 team since 2012. Pakistan's record over the last 4 years has been pretty mediocre, the same team has been hammered in overseas t20 series by aus, NZ, eng etc. Only a victory against SA is what they have to show for.

The others did not perform but Kohli's T20 runs are now worthless. His power hitting and precision is gone so he can't make it up during middle overs or later overs any more. He basically plays at ODI rate and takes us nowhere, it obviously puts pressure on the batsmen to follow to go for high risk shots from ball 1. I am not defending Pant who has been found wanting in T20 or Pandya whose qualification is surely  not on  sporting merit but Kohli eating up balls at 110 strike rate does not help batsmen to follow.

I disagree, rabada, nortje and Maharaj would troubled Pak batsmen in that series, Pak had a middle order of talat, kushdill Shah, iftikhar, faheem and nawaz, south Africa bowling line up was Hendricks, magala, linde and William that's not even a second string attack which would have Morris, Pretorius, phehlukwayo, sipamala and Maharaj.

Iftikhar, talat, and Khudhdil didnt figure in South Africa. It was fakhar, hafeez, haider, nawaz and Shadab.

 

Anyhow, that bowling attack played the odis and tests (in Pakistan), yet our top order, who made the bulk of the runs didn't have much problems against them. Babar scored a century in centurion, whioe Fakhar smashed a 190 odd in jo'burg.

Believe it or not, babar, zaman n rizwan enjoy pace on the ball. It was evident even yesterday.

 

We smashed this same bowling attack for 190 runs in a warm up game as well.

Lol but u still lost the warm up game and ur hyped up bowling got smashed. that proves one thing.  U were lucky to win two tosses and bowl first. So dew played a part. In warm ups which u lost n the real matches you won

There was dew in the warm ups and probably the earlier stages of the tourni, but not yesterday.  We just lost to a better team on the day. No toss involved.  Yes, we prefer chasing but that is more down to our batters being more comfortable in that role.

 

Tbf, as i have earlier mentioned,  this team punched above its weight. It isnt ready yet. It will take 2,3 years for this generation to completely take over and hit their stride.

i dont think pak punched above its weight. Pakistan was playing in dubai which was its home ground for some many years. They played intl matches as well as psl. Out of ind nz pak they had the most exp playing in uae conditions. So they did what they were supposed to do. Be in semi finals.

T20s a different ball game all together, Pakistan lost a home t20 game against Zimbabwe and later in zim to, the odi series in South Africa was leveled before ngidi, nortje, rabada, de kock and miller left for Ipl, Pak even in the first t20 were struggling until some late blows from faheem and hassan Ali.

Is this Rameez Raja effect ? He is doing a good job to improve the profile of the team. We have a full time PR captain who plays cricket part time. Babur actually seems more genuine.
