Ashwin's comments came after former India opener Gautam Gambhir brought up the "spirit of the game" debate in a tweet on Thursday. "What an absolutely pathetic display of spirit of the game by Warner! #Shameful What say @ashwinravi99?" Gambhir tweeted on Thursday after Warner took advantage of Hafeez's miscued double-bounce delivery and hit a six off it.

I don't see any Spirit of Game question here. Warner was well within the rules of the game to play the ball. Either it would have been a dead ball if he had not played it or a no ball if he did (which he did). Batsmen are in it to score runs, not play dead balls.

Warner should have let it go(he started a chain reaction with his action) , there is a free hit coming up. He showed greed and Babar had to reciprocate. Otherwise, Australia would have won in 17 -18 overs comfortably. There wouldn't be a catch drop and 3 sixes .. everyone would have been happy and be talking about how the cricket won rather than Hassan Ali's personal life.

Because a lot of white cricketers gave him a piece of their mind on the spirit of cricket, when Ashwin tried to steal a run when the throw was unientionally deflected off his pads. Apparently, it is against the spirit of the game.

If it is intentional opponents can claim "obstructing the field" dismissal.  For every type of scenario there is an opposite scenario. We have to stop being obsessive with this "spirit" of the game. There is no such thing.  Like Gambhir followed the "spirit" of the game all the time.
