SujitPrakash Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 T20 World Cup 2021: India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took to Twitter to offer his take on David Warner's six off Mohammad Hafeez during Australia five-wicket win over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup semis in Dubai on Thursday. India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took to Twitter to offer his take on David Warner's six off Mohammad Hafeez during Australia five-wicket win over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup semis in Dubai on Thursday. Ashwin's comments came after former India opener Gautam Gambhir brought up the "spirit of the game" debate in a tweet on Thursday. "What an absolutely pathetic display of spirit of the game by Warner! #Shameful What say @ashwinravi99?" Gambhir tweeted on Thursday after Warner took advantage of Hafeez's miscued double-bounce delivery and hit a six off it. https://sports.ndtv.com/icc-t20-world-cup-2021/t20-world-cup-gautam-gambhir-ravichandran-ashwin-engage-in-spirit-of-the-game-debate-over-david-warners-six-off-mohammad-hafeez-2609165#pfrom=home-ndtv_lateststories
vvvslaxman Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 Why did Gauti put Aswhin in the spot by tagging him. lol That is not really nice. Adi_91 1
Adi_91 Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 I don't see any Spirit of Game question here. Warner was well within the rules of the game to play the ball. Either it would have been a dead ball if he had not played it or a no ball if he did (which he did). Batsmen are in it to score runs, not play dead balls. Sgattick10, raki05 and kirkutfan 3
cricketfan28 Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 Warner should have let it go(he started a chain reaction with his action) , there is a free hit coming up. He showed greed and Babar had to reciprocate. Otherwise, Australia would have won in 17 -18 overs comfortably. There wouldn't be a catch drop and 3 sixes .. everyone would have been happy and be talking about how the cricket won rather than Hassan Ali's personal life. Sgattick10 1
coffee_rules Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 (edited) Nothing against spirit of the game/ That Aamir clip is lol. wonder if some fielder could have ran and picked the ball and run him out whil he was thinking where to hit Edited November 13, 2021 by coffee_rules

Because a lot of white cricketers gave him a piece of their mind on the spirit of cricket, when Ashwin tried to steal a run when the throw was unientionally deflected off his pads. Apparently, it is against the spirit of the game.
Khota Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 Spirit of the game is total crap. Umpire allowed it. Live with it. raki05 1
vvvslaxman Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 Just now, coffee_rules said: Because a lot of white cricketers gave him a piece of their mind on the spirit of cricket, when Ashwin tried to steal a run when the throw was unientionally deflected off his pads. Apparently, it is against the spirit of the game. If it is intentional opponents can claim "obstructing the field" dismissal. For every type of scenario there is an opposite scenario. We have to stop being obsessive with this "spirit" of the game. There is no such thing. Like Gambhir followed the "spirit" of the game all the time.
New guy Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 Gambhir and ashwin were just pulling each others legs
