maniac Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 I know lot of you are thinking right now, what’s the catch? the answer to that is no catch. I really mean it. there is no point in rohit playing tests. Had he retired a few years back, people would have called him a pure white ball specialist but now he has had some significant contributions in tests so he can remain as “what could have been” . He is nearing the wrong side of 30’s. Looks like he has fitness issues especially with hamstring. Playing all 3 formats + IPL, that’s a recipe for career being cut short. He is the captain for the next significant 2-3 white ball tournaments so let him focus solely on that. We have so many test openers right now- Mayank,Rahul, Shaw,Gill, Devdutt,Panchal, Easwaran and sure many more options in tests. Let a young guy get the long run early. Also it will cut into some tension between Rohit and Virat. Him doing this voluntarily is a long shot but hope he does, will only make me a bigger fan :) Also can’t believe from days of total dons like Bindra, Dungarpur,Dalmiya,Srinivasan; we are now left with such a spineless BCCI and wimps that are running it now (sorry Dada, but that’s what it looks like) that it can’t control a dressing room conflict between 2 divas. gooner and Vilander 2
maniac Posted December 14, 2021 Author Posted December 14, 2021 Look at England Morgan: captain in white ball. Calls the shots Root: captain in tests calls the shots Root plays odi cricket under Morgan. Now I am pretty sure Root and Morgan don’t have anything close to a Kohli-Rohit type conflict if they have any to begin with even. However it works. Its a good model. Need to phase Kohli out of T20 unless he hits a purple patch in the IPL and finds a 2nd wind.
cricketfan28 Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 not now man, he is in great form, we will miss him in SA. express bowling 1

sage Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 Rohit is our best test batsman right now. Need him to overtake Kohlis test average first. Shouldn't be long since they're both heading in opposite directions
zen Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 (edited) Sooner or later, people are going to hope that he be dropped ... Keeps missing out on tough games/series in SENA Edited December 15, 2021 by zen
Vijy Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 so many injuries these days. however, given the fragility of this batting lineup, I cannot believe I'm saying it, but I think he needs to play as long as he's in good form and fitness. express bowling 1

Its freaking ugly and immature unbelievable that it happens in a professional setup like India, there has to be a black sheep. I don't think it is Rohit. Now Kohli Ganguly I don't know which one, but cant fauly Vanguly on the decision. That's leaves one person who seems to over stayed his welcome and that's Kohli.
Lord Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 or maybe he should reduce his belly and be fit for SENA tours
