gakgupta Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 I mean...the way he played in SA 3rd ODI is laudable .. I think he has that zeal and attitude to do special in one dayers... He is my bowling all-rounder and definetly ahead of shards in one dayers Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
Majestic Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 (edited) Ofcourse he should. He is the second best Indian all rounder of this era in LOIs. Better than Shardul, Sundar, Axar and the other wannabe all rounders. Edited February 6, 2022 by Majestic
Lone Wolf Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Above Thakur 100%.. Similar batting skill but Chahar a better option with the ball. Allows us to use him David Willey style in PP.
Ankit_sharma03 Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Chahar is at his best in t20 and their also he shudnt be automatic selection. Why ?? Automatic selection shud only be guys like bumrah, archer, shaheeh who are all condition n situation bowlers. Their are conditions that doesnt suit chahar , thakur which turns them into liabilities and their are some that suit them which turns them into assets. Pick them acc to conditions. Among indian bowlers only bumrah n siraj shud be automatic selection, rest horses for corses

Pollack Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Hardik Pandya is the only player close to being termed as an allrounder in terms of skills in both the department. And even he hasn't done much. Shardul, Chahar are bowlers (mediocre as fcuk) who can bat a bit. express bowling 1

In tests Shardul should be better. This is based on my perception and analysis since neither of the players have played much to compare. Bowling, both are sh!t bowlers. I am 100% sure about this. We are going to be screwed if we don't find better bowlers.

Give him +5 for that. His 69 vs Lanka possessed all the skills of a finisher. He is peak Irfan Pathan with bat. Also has a beautiful wife. After Pandya, he is the second best. Shardul is bits and pieces in LOIs like Jadeja. Axar is much worse bat than all of them. Sundar is good but lacks hitting ability. Edited February 6, 2022 by Majestic
jusarrived Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Agree the only half decent AR we have. Hooda is a cross batted slogger, sundar cant slog and Shradul is similar but I think chahar is a slight upgrade both with ball and bat

We should accept it till we find one. Pandya is the close we can get.
jusarrived Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 I don't agree he should be an automatic pick, but if we have to pick one for AR spot, of all the pretenders he's the best

Pandya is a batting alrounder capable of batting at 5-6 whose bowling is secondary skill. So both type of players can play simultaneously if they are good at their primary skill and decent at secondary skill.

Chahar is more gritty whereas thakur is more free flowing as bowlers Chahar is very good in t20 , coz in 4 over u can bowl at full steam so his pace is fine their but in ODI in middle overs he starts to drop his pace. In t20 i consider him match winner coz on his days he can run through top orders n has done that a lot in IPL Thakur as bowler- needs longer grounds (like australia ) spungy pitches ( like UAE) or extra pace n bounce, that where he is very handy as bowler. U give him flat deck, small grounds....he ll leak leak n leak So both are just horses for courses. Pollack 1

Hence, they all belong to the same group.
Adamant Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Thakur is a better batsman than Chahar in all formats. Yes Chahal might be a better bowler as of now in lois coz he obtains more lateral move earlier on, but then unlike Thakur he hasn't got the ability to take wickets in a bunch, but yeah still I would take Chahar the loi bowler abive Thakur. As far as batting is concerned, I don't think their batting abilities are even in the same ballpark. Chahar isn't an allrounder, he is a Pravin Kumar level batsman who can play some clutch innings. Actually now that I think, he is the new Pravin Kumar, but faster.
