Pak will tour Australia next year...  If they find another batter of the quality of Shafique along with Babar they could compete with the bat.

Never thought I'd say this but Pakistani batters have better temperament & looks like these guys know the art of inns building as well.   While their bowling looks quite rubbish bar Shaheen to an extent I think.

Young Indian batters are now on overdose of T20 diet & we play like that in Test cricket with a couple of finished players in line up.

I do hope we pick Rajat Patidar & Sarfraz for BD series.  Man we could use some fresh performers from domestics.

Gill probably needs another FC season to get those big runs.

dont think they have historically ever done well in Australia even with their better players. Always found them better in eng, nz or spinning conditions then with pace n bounce .

Also their bowlers lack that extra fitness to bowl in australia at high pace all days long or sustain themselves on those hard grounds. Hassan ali with that pace will be off no good in Australia .

I really like shafique but its a different ball game facing hazelwood, cummins with kookabura bowling consistently at good lengths with his inexperience

Yes actually it's their bowling that lets them down...  Yasir goes for 5 RPO & others around 4 RPO.  Basically Aussies love to thrash them.

Batting wise they actually do well.  Asad Shafique Babar Rizwan even chachu Iftikhar...  Yasir Shah  has a ton there.   But they aren't able to out bat or outbowl them & get thrashed in 4 days by inns.

Aus v Pak final in Lords would be good...  Both Australia & Pak love playing at Lord's.

Shafique also has a high backlift like Gill (not that high)  but seems he will be decent on backfoot.  Hazelwood types will own him.

He is actually better against pace than spin.

Before this series and after his cheap dismissal in the first innings i was not rating his chances too high against jayasuriya n co on this powdery surface but he surprised me. Dude made so many adjustments including shortening his stride within the innins which is a sign of a thinking cricketer.

I dont think there is a young cricketer out there with a more orthodoxly correct technique than him at the moment. He is the kind of guy who's batting can serve very well as a coaching manual. The only thing that may trouble him slightly is the tendency to drive on the backfoot instead of cutting like what most subcontinental players suffer from in Australia.

He is a decent strokeplayer too but hasn't shown that side of his so far in his fledgling test careeer.

Wow Pakistan might end up playing ICC test finals. That would be very bad.Can India still make it ?

India has to win all of its 6 tests remaining to get there.  PCT of 68% minimum is required.

Otherwise will have to hope Aus/Pak drop tests at home series.

Forget it, a team with its WK as best batsman & lone spinner as second best even for one game isn't a world class outfit. Pak with its various problems puts up a more deserving XI than us.

I don't think they are more deserving at all. They played one of the easiest schedules. Let them play 8 tests in SENA and let us see where they are as a team.

When I say deserving XI I mean meritocratic. Their 6 test match old player played an inning of a lifetime while we are stuck with Kohli & Pujara.

No matter how flat the wicket or how ordinary the opponent's bowling attack is , Sri Lanka will never ever bat a team out of the game.

Their batters have the talent and potential but temperament is beyond pathetic.

Naseem is so good. So good. God I am so jealous of pakistan.

Said no one ever.

Booty chewt parki lowda needs his parki citizenship. Defect the twat before he explodes like a you know Lel.

SL has built a decent platform now...  Their U19 Captain is also playing today.   They need 400 from here at least.  One of Mathews & Chandimal has to go big.  Mendis was unlucky today.

Pakistan bowling attack in test cricket is very mediocre. Had we been playing regularly with them, our batsmen would enjoy playing against such bowling attack in Asian conditions similar to how Sehwag used to back the days. Imagine Pant or even someone like Shreyas Iyer against Nauman Chacha or Yasir Shah. It will be sixes galore...lol.

Having said that, their batting is very good though. Babar, Abdullah, Rizwan, Fawad - all class batsmen.

Ind v Pak in England will be interesting...  There's little chance for that to happen as it most likely will be either Ind/Pak v Aus in Finals.

Their batters have old school techniques & are more compact than us...  Barring Alam ofc.   Bowling is proper buffet though.  They will do better in Eng but apart from Shaheen's initial spell.  They will be carted around.

Australia will maul this attack in Lords without breaking a sweat.
