Also, mention the average and strike rate.

He will fail again in first match of next series. People will ask what has he done to be playing. There will be calls of dropping him. He will score in last match of same series, there will be more threads praising him. Next series, they will forget it again. This is a cycle.

if he crosses 20-25, he seems to push on and score a quick 50+ score. this suggests  a strategy of him getting his eye in first, moving to 15-20, and then cutting loose.

there is no doubt of him, by and large, from the community in Tests. he can be regarded as an established player, and there is no cycle ongoing there. In ODIs, if he can turn the corner, this cycle will also cease.

yes he is loose at the start at times. If he can control that,he has great career ahead of him

Exactly but in the end quality will always win

As I mentioned before as well that with Pant it's only a matter of time before he excels in this format ,his bad run of form wasn't worrying at all because he produces the goods in important matches especially in clutch situations.

This type of innings weigh heavier than useless stat padding against windies or lanka on belters .

A win in England against this England side is something to cherish let's be honest

Yes ,would have been a sure starter and a star by now had he got consistent chances in odis since 2018 .

I still can't believe the guy has played just 20 odd odis in the last 4 years

Sau sunar ki ek lohar ki !

@VVS Laxman ,I told ya ,pant's lack of runs doesnt concern me at all ,he saves his best for the important matches

it shudnt , its biazzare to even question player of such quality

quality always wins

its better to back someone with quality- everyone learns to adapt sooner or later

rather backing players with lesser quality who once they found out will have tough time getting over it coz they lack quality

We took 5 years to find Yuvi's replacement. Time wasted on Rayudu and Shankar.

Pant is the guy. Was always gonna be him.

still haven't found raina's replacement. someone who could bowl part-time spin and bat as low as no. 7 (or as high as no. 3) while scoring at high SR.

If Glass Man (Sundar) were fit, he has the dynamism and temperament to be that player

We can try Hooda. He has better power game than Sundar.
