He is being portrayed as a brand by the commentators and his PR agencies. If you're talked more, people will always remember his name no matter what.

 

Experts take his name alongside Rohit & Kohli while KL hasn't even done 15% of what those two has achieved.

 

Since the marriage to Shetty family, Anna being a popular figure as ever in media is pushing his name through his friends and connections.

It's more Rohit and selectors than Rohit. Already Gambhir and Rohit don't see eye to eye on fringe player selection such as Harshit and Nitish. Easy to blame Gambhir when Rohit and selectors wield all the power and the best Gambhir can do is get his players in the squad but that's about it. If Gambhir is backing likes of Harshit and Nitish, I don't see him backing likes of KL. He's more likely to back someone like Jurel.
