Needs to play more 50 overs cricket ,that's where he can improve his game.T20s aren't easy for middle order batsmen.

With impatient fans and selectors (who selectively show patience),he will be dropped after few games while Rahane has still a chance to stage a comeback across formats

Bumpity bump

Bhanuka Rajapaksa today. That is clutch batting. Team is 58/5 and he still scores 70 odd at 150 sr.

Till SKY plays an innings of this substance in a high pressure international game, I will still remain skeptical of his temperament and his pressure handling bonafides.

Not sure many satisfy that bar in our team tbh

Yes that's clutch innings in the final and when you consider toss being that crucial it becomes "Super Clutch"

We lose this game, the series is lost. Higher stakes. It's clearly a trend with this SKY

You lose the first game and its always catching up.

Scored 50 on debut in similar must win game

Quick 32 next game in decide

Sample size is very small to say that, Specially when others also fail in knockouts/must wins

He just looks way way too casual with his approach if that's the right word to use here. Like he doesn't care about the result or his score or anything for that matter.

Complete opposite of Kohli, Rohit , Rahul, Pant.

So two clutch knocks in nearly 30 innings?

I'm having serious doubts about his temperament.

Its fearless not casual. Thats the approach we need. SDP also has it to an extent.

Ofcourse there will be failures and they'll look bad, but its not like other approach is super consistent.

All 30 innings were in high pressure games?

While he let us down in Asia cup and his failure against Pakistan and SL put us back, can’t fault him today. In such situations you can only hit or get out.

In last game he was the only batsman who took Zampa on in his final over. Otherwise Zampa was going for near 6 economy.

Even if only half of them were in high pressure situations, it would still raise questions about his temperament.

Besides, he's 32, not 22 and still trying to figure out his game. You'd expect much more from someone like him.
