He will be fine but the adjectives which were being used for him by some geniuses were bit too much." he is national treasure and blah blah".

Same thing goes with Pandya, Some geniuses make him into player he never was and never will be. Both have role to play in this team , if  India has to do well in next world cup.

He is actually much worse.   Always plays impactless knock.  That knock vs Eng should not be read too much.  It was an inconsequential dead rubber, with no pressure. Failed vs Pak in WT20 when it mattered the most.   Followed by endless failures against every test playing nation in Asia cup. (Just 1 decent knock vs Associate HK).       Upcoming WT20 should be the last chance of redemption for this 31 yr old man.

Risk ka matalb kya hota hai ???

Bhavuk mat ho ja. Just made an observation.

High risk theek hai but high pressure handle karne ki ability bhi honi chahiye.

He can be a genuine match winner. But failing against Pak 3 times in a row has somewhat earned a bad name for him. He is alright.  It is Pant that we have to worry about. Just doesn't work for him.

Failing against Pak in particular is not the issue. When has he played a clutch knock in his international career? When the pressure is on, he starts batting like a tuk tukiya.

Vs Pak and SL, he had plenty of time to get going but flattered to deceive. I'm not questioning his talent, just his temperament.

Don't think he was voluntarily selfish. Didn't get the timing going.

I don't think any batsmen is voluntarily selfish. I am not blaming SKY for SL but sometimes you just don't get going for whatever reason. It is very early in his career  but annointing them as superstars before them doing anything is bit silly.

One has to see what options the team has. If looking for an aggressive player with the ability to play 360 degrees, SKY checks those boxes.

If you are looking for relatively consistent players who would look to score 20-30 runs first before opening up and playing for the team, you have Manish Pandey, etc.

One can’t be worried about a Manish Pandey playing slowly (if that is a concern do not pick him) or a SKY being inconsistent (He is not going to play for his 20 runs first)

Every choice has its pros and cons, it is what is more optimized for the 11.
