Let's attempt to find the positives for Ind (T20WC22)

With unoptimized (and uninspired) selections including trundlers, TTFs, focus on experience, a top 3 that does enough in regular games while failing in knockouts, inflexibility, mundane captaincy, etc., India again finds itself in a familiar territory where it would need to rely mainly on individual brilliance to make an impression in the upcoming WC 2023.

India: Rohit Sharma (c), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, Hardik Pandya, R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh.

Standby Players: Mohammad Shami, Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi, Deepak Chahar.

Whether we agree or not, Ind is expected to start with a line up like below:

Rohit

KL

Kohli

SKY

Sir Don

DK (or Pant)

Axar

Harshal (or Arshdeep)

Bhuvi (or Arshdeep)

Bumrah

Chahal (or Ashwin)

Hooda is likely to warm the bench unless someone is unfit.

Anyways, let attempt to look at the positives (some of them may appear gimmicky):

  • The batsmen have been playing together for long so understand each others' strengths & weaknesses
  • The top 3 are learning to be aggressive (at least they accepted that they were not aggressive earlier)
  • Harshal can be seen as the 3rd spinner (a fastish one) who could work if the pitches are dry with long boundaries (the slow dipper can still fool batsmen looking to go big)
  • Bhuvi can swing the ball (use him wisely)
  • Arshdeep can bowl yorkers
  • There are some good fielders
  • Many of these guys are considered to be the best players of T20s (even based on past records) in Ind (No matter how clueless, the selectors would still know something about picking a squad)
  • We have proven results in bilaterals, which are played more often than multi-team events
  • Ind is the #1 rated T20 team

Please list more, ...

Now it is time to stop worrying, sit back, and enjoy the world cup, which in Aus is good to watch. India still has a few fun to watch players in the 11. You could see some innovation esp. from sides like Eng. NZ is likely to up the fielding standards. SA has players who have been threatening to explode for a long time so maybe they finally can, WI could play fearless cricket, and so on!

Bumrah,

Will be biggest positive.

Rohit,Virat ,Kohli

Two of the three must click in most matches,One of them should bat along with Surya,Hardik ,Karthik,

Hardik

Should contribute either with bat or ball

Dinesh Karthik

Should be the wicketkeeper and finisher, the team management should not experiment more with Rishabh Pant.

Axar Patel

Axar patel should be the spinner, batting is plus

Surya

He should be used well ,most probably between Hardik and Karthik.

Arshdeep

Arshdeep should partner Bumrah, has shown good temperament in the death over .Bhubaneshwar should not be consider due to experience.

Ashwin

Instead of Chahal.,Ashwin should be considered ,batting plus.

Harshal

As there is no option in squad he should be selected and used well.Bumrah  and Arshdeep.should bowl in the death

If they lose badly, maybe they will kick out Rohit, Kohli, and KL.

But who i am kidding? They will just drop Chahal, Bhuvi and Harshul and Karthik. They already got scapegoats prepared.

Already started … maybe paid PR at work :dontknow:

1. Batting looks good. Kohli is somewhat back in his old form. Rohit is more aggressive. Pandya playing like he was expected to do. DK seems good for short finishing cameos. The TM finally realised that they need to fire all cylinders when batting.

2. If both Bumrah and Arshdeep play, we probably have the best (or atleast the most economical) death bowling pair in the world. Also, Axar has been bowling well right now.

Positive has to be batting, most batsmen have runs behind them and they are clicking as a batting unit.

Bowling in middle overs has been fine. Its the final 5 where return of Bumrah will certainly give us the boast needed. Axar in the few games he has played has looked good. So if Bhuvi at top can get his act together, axar in middle and Bumrah with Arshdeep can still be a decent bowling lineup.

Catching has been so poor that and only way forward is up.

There is no positives when Kohli screws our country as always with his presence. Not only does this loser not score, he eats up deliveries.

Our side would look and feel a lot better having both DK and Pant in it. Instead because of the arsehole that is Kohli we can only have one of them.

I know he has fractured your face with multiple bat hits but still you should let it go.

He was easily our beat batter in Asia cup even without the Afghanistan match.

But how can I expect anything from someone who has 80 iq
