He is T20 material. England doesn't pick him coz they are spoiled for choices and that's how they won T20 wc. A domestic league like IPL where Christian and Odean Smith like useless players can get picked him then why not Root.

MI had the worst auction. Nobody knew what they were trying to achieve. They let go all the good players sleeping in the auction and then bought filler players at the last moment having spent heavily on one or two players.

Bidding ishan for 15.25 and retaining Rohit for 16c were two biggest blunders.

 

They could have let Rohit go and maybe bought him back at the auction for lesser price.

He was T20 material, his recent form is extremely iffy. Also I believe he is past his prime, lastly he will play for their test & ODI teams regularly so teams will not invest in someone for just one season. He might still get picked but it will be close to his base price.
