i think even he was used in sc and sharjah type pitches. I am ok with Axar promoted vs spinners in sc conditons. I think he will be needed in the 50 over wc at home but to think he can do much against 140+ bowlers and that too in MCG was foolish.

Spinners had started to bowl. His job would've been to take down Nawaz and Shadab

Almost all teams have leggies as weapons. Even ireland. He was the man of the match. Inspite of having Chahal, Bishoni, Kuldeep  not playing any of them will be a travesty.  Even against india Shadab was the one who put the choke on

Would have played Bishnoi if he was there. Maybe even Kuldeep.

 

Chahal gives no confidence. He can get smacked too.Shadab is much better leggie atm.

Thats okay as that means one less over for seamer in end.

He doesn’t have the range to clear the grounds in MCG. Guys like Pandya or Chacha have very good technique. He would have holed out  eventually. That’s my opinion of his batting from what I have seen.

He did pick 6 for 42 at the MCG. We cannot ignore him after picking him as a lead spinner. There is only reason Axar is ahead of him. Just because he can bat a bit.  Even the average leggies will be better than a random left arm spinners.

yes but its sort of a free wicket.

 

Bash them as much as you can before he got out. His wicket didnt hurt.

Yes that is also a fear. He doesn't have that hitting technique.

That was ODIs. Totally different format even though white ball.

 

His T20I ER is above 8. So even on normal day he's quite expensive, Can't bowl in PP much. Can't bowl with wet ball (no dew but rain can come)

 

His fielding is trash too, not just batting. Even if he was safe catcher, he could have been picked easily.

 

Only way Chahal comes is if Harshal replaces Shami/Arshdeep as well. We need some batting ability till 8.

I don't like him either. But we must back a leggie in Australia. So far no leggie could be dominated in this tournament. Even associate leggies are good.

Bowling is still bang average but it can be worked with after the addition of shami. 

Let's be clear ,yesterday Arshdeep and Bhuvi got the perfect bowling conditions which suit their type of bowling and I'll be honest we let pakistan off the hook easily.

Any other top class bowling attack would have attacked pakistan even more and picked 3-4 early wkts .

Hope the kookabura swings like this for us because we know if it does then Arshdeep and Bhuvi will be in business

Arshdeep can actually be our Trump card in the early overs ,he can get big wkts if the ball swings early ,Being a Left arm pacer is always a benefit.

On dry tracks like Sydney etc he can be considering assuming Harshal will also be fine on such tracks.

If we run into our perennial nemesis NZ our bowlers will have a job on their hands. They have no first hand experience against Finn Allen. He knows only one way. He won't be tuktuking like Babar or Rizwan.  Then there is our choke job against Santner whose economy is 3.75 against India in world t20s. Sodhi is another guy whose ER is 4 something.
