I cannot believe how superstitious Indians can be.


It was so stupid when some posters were saying that its good that India has lost to SA as no team has won the WC undefeated. It was one of the dumbest things I have ever read on here and there has been many stupid things too.

I am sure he was not picked for that. He had a good season of IPL. Earned his stripes. BUt his mental midgetry is no going away. Even if he scores a couple of 50s he is not going to play anyway in future.  ANother thing he can do is he can pick up an injury and someone else like Gill can replace him.

Agree with this, except that we haven't tried Pant as an opener. Do that rest of this WC and if he fails, we move on to Samson.

 

This is for T20s only - Pant is an automatic selection for both tests and ODIs.

Bad news from some channels is that he will play tomorrow.

Even with all positivity I am trying to believe in, I have given up on this campaign if he plays tomorrow.

Rohit is turning this world cup into a pre retirement party for his oldie friends.

Rohit must hv watched the highlights of Nidhahas trophy final over a million times.  That's the only possible explanation, I guess.

This is the problem when your captain himself is a 36 yr oldie and is part of the retirement home.   He will hv a natural tendency to pick all 35+ yr old buddies.  Same age band, similar life style and interests etc.   In the end, another WC humiliation on the cards.

We can all see Rohit's waning reflexes so not just it puts us at a disadvantage skill wise, our fielding has become a laughing stock in front of whole world.

Who are young studs who have been left out. DK was the best finisher from India in IPL .Selecting DK was not mistake.DK has always been headcase as far as pressure is concerned and it was assumed in t20s he would not get too much time to think to put pressure on himself but this world cup is proving that also as wrong.

DK earned his place in the squad. His place in the XI was ensured by Pant's lack luster outings in T20.  If Pand had scored a 50 in the western australia games he probably would have had a shot. Failed in both the matches with sub 100 strike rate as opener. Now that DK has shown he has more than one problem (finisher, consolidator, keeping), we have no choice but to go back to Pant irrespective of whether he clicks or not.

Yes DK earned his spot but he has been putrid in keeping and also with bat so far. He looked  like headless chicken in Pakistan match also.Pant should replace him as opener and Rahul should be pushed down the order.
