He did nothing special except tossing the ball to Bumrah. as for IPL, RCB never had great bowling attack to win on those pattas. in Tests its not even a debate. Rohit is the worst having been whitewashed by mediocre Kiwis at home. I would rather have a lucky captain than a good one. And Rohit had the luck on his side. He got past CSK by a run or two a couple of times. He had better man management skills, and tactically much more shrewd than Kohli in the shorter formats. Plus he didn't drop a player on a whim. I doubt Rohit would've dropped Shami from the team for 2019 WC SF the way Kohli did.

Was poor with his fields and reviews thoroughly. IPL is trash. Judging captaincy on that is a mistake we are paying for. Kohli was trash in white ball but that doesnt make Rohit great. While Kohli was definitely ahead in Tests. Atleast didnt get whitewashed at home.
The Realist Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Rocks up late to Aus with his battery of cooks and food vans Physical state poor but belly flourishing Makes single digit scores in warm up game and test Captaincy non-existent with Kohli more vocal and generally looks disinterested Captain Sharma is back
Lord Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 worst captain I've seen. But also the luckiest. No idea how he won all those T20 titles

He was literally carried by his team till finals in 2011.Dhoni got exposed as useless captain in so many t20 world cups when he had the best team and his useless decisions costed team not winning more cups. IPL is the worst way to assess Indian captains. Edited December 6, 2024 by putrevus Lord 1

As useless as they come who hung on to others' coattails to be part of winning teams. Others like Gambhir, Dhawan, Bumrah etc. had to do the heavy lifting.

I'm not talking of semis alone but the whole preparation for the WC. We had no settled no. 4. Rayudu was given a long run then suddenly dropped for WC. No one else was tried for long. We played 3 WKs in semis. Dhoni overstayed with nothing performances . Then ofcourse the great decision to drop Shami for CT. Fantastic captaincy. Ultimate_Game 1
jigjig Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Poor in tests. Lots of promise in white ball cricket but slow progress
rtmohanlal Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 this 'flat track only waste' doesn't even deserve a place in test team , let alone captain the team . Double mistake by the selectors.

He decided to field on a patta just to show up Kumble who wanted the team to bat first. Plus decided to drop Umesh and not play Shami and went with spinners against Pak. Lord 1

vvvslaxman Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 This clown needs some divine intervention to win matchces Against AUstralia in world T20 he needed Axar's blinder Against SA in the final he needed SKY's blinder.
