No Joe Root in their T20I set up: Sunil Gavaskar explains reason behind England's success T20 World Cup

Gavaskar gave the example of Joe Root, who despite being one of the greatest batters in the modern era does not find a place in the T20I side.

"England's selection policy is the point of difference. Joe Root - who is a legend in Test match cricket does not get a chance to play in T20Is. If they see that their Test match batters cannot play in their T20I template, they simply do not select them. Joe Root is one of the best batters in the world, one of fab four, but he still does not find a place in the white ball team," Gavaskar compared England to the rest of the teams.

"England have brought in youngsters in the team, like Phil Salt and Harry Brook, and they were the points of difference," he further added.
