I would say number 1 and 2 are in order

3 and 4 are actually debatable. Rest are in random order.

Bumrah, Shami and Ishsnt / Siraj have been instrumental in India winning 2 consequtive Test series in Australia and drawing 1 Test series in England. So, they are the best in my book.

I would have Kuldeep in ahead of Axar, especially given we have Jaddu.

 

However, given the brittle and pathetic nature of Pujara, Kohli and KL we genuinely need Axar's batting ability.

 

Now if Gill replaced KL, I would be very comfortable replacing Axar with Kuldeep.

With Pant not available Ind test batting is looking v.thing and hardly any big runs coming from top there will aways be an inclination towards a longer batting line-up.

 

Axar with bat is much needed for Ind to do some rescue job.

Yes exactly. India choked in 3rd innings of 5 SENA Tests. 2020 Nz, 2021 WTC, 2022 SAF and England 4th test. We could have won in all of them.. Pant played in all. So did Bumrah.

Gill was still in unlocked state. Harsh to put him in that category. He did well in initiating the Gabba chase when Pujara was on 8 in 94 balls. But for his intent it would have either been a draw or loss.
