Aus-SA test ended in 2 days in Brisbane. What's up with that? No one talked about it. I don't give a rats ass if Fox Sports cries on and on. I say prepare rank turners and beat these Aussies in 2-3 days again and again and again

Why didn't any random batsman from Australia do well then? I don't think you watched the game as such. Most of the wickets fell either to straight balls or balls where the batsman's footwork was at fault. Players who have been playing poorly for a long time (KL Rahul, Pujara, Kohli) did poorly as expected. If you watched Axar's innings, you will see that his footwork was very good throughout and he played a largely chance-less innings. I would not call it a "random" act. You are undermining Indian players when you make that statement. It is a skill that they possess, not random acts.

Another false assumption where you think that a ball is always supposed to turn on a rank turner, where it can go straight too. Axar took many wkts against Eng on a rank turner with straight balls.

The footwork is usually an issue on a rank turner as batsman is unsure whether to come forward or backward.

If you watched the test, you would know Labuschagne, Smith, etc. did do relatively well (better than many of the top  Indian batsman).

Why do you say this one was a rank turner? It was not. Most balls just offered regular spin that is to be expected on Indian pitches and wickets were largely due to poor skills from Australian batsmen. Nobody can actually bat on a rank turner and no random acts work on those.

As I already said - "rank turners can have various degrees".

Anyways, you will go on rambling. So, I leave your opinions to you. In your World, this was a rank turner and Pujara is the greatest sportsman in the history of the universe. Good luck with both those thoughts!

You are just repeating yourself in trying to make something out of nothing (rank turners are not defensible).

As for Pujara, who was recently MoS in BD, it is again a wrong representation of my position (debating/discussing is not twisting someone' position in case you didn't know that. it is a type of cheating :winky: - which many people in subcon tend to justify using either Lahori or desi logic) and if I am not wrong, you used to write against Pujara and support Rahane, who is gone by now (most posters here are hardly correct so again not a big deal).

Nagpur Grounds men done a excellent job. No Cricket Playing country would allow a opponent team to practice on center pitch unless it is a practice game.

Exactly.

There is zero precedent of using a post match pitch for practice by the visiting team.

It is an outrageous demand.

Aussies would not allow our players anywhere near the pitch post match. They strictly follow their so called rules but want us to bend to accommodate them.

I am sure they have cooked up another story. They had an opportunity to play tour match. Not India's fault they didn't want to. You cannot practice against an impersonator and try to take on the real one.  How many excuses are they going to give. Australia/England both lost at Mirpur. India almost lost. Batsmen with ability survived and won the match. Batsmen who were clueless struggled and perished.

Zen you could benefit from this perhaps. Just don't watch if it's a turner?

Turner can be fun in all honesty. I dont understand the exaggeration here. The pitch at nagpur was no where as bad as what we dishe dour vs england in 2021. That was awful as games ended so early.

Ideally yes, help for bounce and spin would be great to see. Our batting is atrocious on flat wickets where we are required to outbat other team hence we will continue to dishout turners unfortunately. Maybe we should first learn to pick our best side before making decisions about pitches.

This has the least amount of turn. Domestic team would have outbatted Indian line up on the same pitch. Blaming the stage when you don't know how to dance is nothing new.

Is there any data to confirm the turn %?

Yes there isa bar graph they shared all over the internet comparing the England series pitches, SL series pitches, NZ series pitches. The pitch where Rohit made 161 on day one had the highest turn. About 4.9 degree.  Now that i called square turner. Not 2.7 degree which was for this match.

How do you measure the turn ? Does the turn not depend on the bowler and further more whether the bowler wants to use turn or uneven bounce

Average turn.  As far as this match goes Ashwin had the maximum turn which was only 3 degrees.

Quite frankly all this is bullshit gimmicks by visitors.

Kumble never relied on turn - he could hardly turn the ball - he relied on uneven bounce - and they used to call even those wickets as turners - when the visiting spinners should has been more successful on that than Kumble.

Again People are not thinking this through...  Aussies requested & VCA agreed on it...  And after that Groundsman poured water on that.

Only one party is at fault here & that's VCA coz of their Incompetence or poor communication or whatever you can call it.

Either they should have straight up said no.  You can be a di*k but not a cheat or worse at least.

Turn alone is not a problem, turn along with speed off the wicket is what makes life very difficult. Eg of taht is the Ahmedabad pink ball test where the wickets all fell because of the extra skid due to the pink lacquer. Slow turn is not that hard to negotiate. Granted this was a slow pitch so it was not like the Mumbai match against Nzl where by the 2nd innings the pitch had a lot of bite especially from one end and Jayant cleaned up in the 2nd innings. The previous one at Kanpur was a pitch as dead as it comes because it was very slow even if the graph says it turned more than this one which it didn't seem so having seen both matches.

Sorry, you are wrong here. What if our team management told VCA ground staff not to comply after learning about the Aussie request ? Why blame VCA.
