zen Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 (edited) Not going just by stats but players who have impressed me (for both tangibles and intangibles) and the ones that I like to watch too. Makes an interesting 11: Buttler - overburdened at RR but still consistent enough. Will be the WK Gill (or Rituraj if you prefer) - solid and calculated gameplay SDP - played a good inning in difficult conditions. Usually looks great at the crease, hitting a few good-looking shots, then tends to play a shot that goes straight to a fielder in attempting a 6 (eventually, that ball will find a gap or go over the ropes too). Brings in superb bowling and positive attacking captaincy. Invaluable as an overall package (It can be unidimensional to look at batting or bowling in isolation without considering the overall package and multi-dimensional impact) SKY (or Samson if you prefer) - gets off the blocks quickly and hits the ball all around the park Rinku - to get the boundaries consistently Tewatia - for big hitting in the death overs Rashid - spin and innovative big hitting Nortje (or Wood if you prefer) - express pace bowler slot Noor - an impressive wrist spinner Shami - for PP bowling Siraj - for bowling during most phases Impact player: Dhoni - impressed with his fitness and keeping at this age, and can still walk in to smash the last few balls out of the park. Potentially in his last season so he pulls the crowd in even more The above has 4 pacers (Shami, Siraj, Nortje, & SDP) and 2 wrist spinners (Rashid & Noor) Edited April 27, 2023 by zen
Majestic Posted April 29, 2023 Author Posted April 29, 2023 Stoinis and Pooran strong contenders from LSG.

I’d go with pretty much the same team. With Butler as a back up for Faf and Nortje as a backup for Wood. And Gaikwad as a backup for Jaiswal. Edited May 12, 2023 by MK55 singhvivek141 1
Suhaan Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 Hardik at 7-8 better than Curran, his bowling is better
zen Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 An issue with such teams on paper is that they may look good on paper based on stats (individual level performances) but may not win the IPL. We assume that all franchises are equal and that any player taken from one and substituted in another will perform similarly.
