Exactly. Only Indians care about records lol. Like who cares. What matters is who was the better match winner.

I am not sure if sacchu bhai is better than root in terms of being a match winner although sacchu dint have the luxury to play with the best Asian fast bowling attack with the likes of bumrah shami ishant and sirsj etc.

“Highly rated” Indian batsmen tend to suffer from the “fail when it matters” syndrome esp. “away”.

There were many occasions where our bowlers did well but batting did not.

Being the highest run scorer in the history of game is indeed a great honour and all countries care for it not just Indians, that's why English commentators started that Cook vs Sachin comparison and same goes for this.

Rare post of yours with whom I completely agree with...  English care deeply about test cricket & their media,  commies only hype up test stats.

Ofc they don't care about bilateral ODI/T20 records but Test Cricket has always been top draw for them.

When did he own indian bowling in India apart from flat pitches ? He never did. 2016 was. Joke. Flattest pitches od all time. Coolie scored 100s for fun. We won 4 0 btw.

We saw his aukad vs India in 2022. He sucked big time outside that first match which was again a flat deck.

Even in England he only played well on flat pitches. Any pitch with assistance he got bamboozled by bumrah or shardul.

In 2022 Test series, he owned Bumrah and other 155 kph Indian pacers against whom he scored 750 runs in that series while the second best scorer was Rohit Sharma with some 360 odd runs and third best scorer was Hahul with 300 odd runs.

It was insane level of destruction from Root who single-handedly drew that series 2-2 vs 11 men who were playing for India

Indeed Root is a bigger scalp for me than even Smith especially when playing vs India.

No match up works against him...  Unless we prepare rank turners at home to tame him.

Single handedly he scarred us with Chennai 2020 defeat...  We lost a test there almost after two decades lol

Absolutely..

As for rank Turners, no one has performed on those pitches. Smith scored runs in Pune but was lucky half a dozen times. There were lot of missed opportunity. In the series last year, he could do nothing on turning pitches. So, not scoring on rank Turner shouldn't go against Root.

Again flat pitches. He never performed on any pitch that had assistance.

He got destroyed in India after the first game which was on a flat pitch.

In England he only scored again when pitches were ultra flat.

Put root in a spicy pitch, he will get owned as usual by any of the top bowlers.

Flat pitch sure he will take us to the cleaners. But even on flats he has struggled vs Aussies.

Apart from Smith who literally changes his technique midway through the series everyone else is susceptible. But ROot survives better than Kohli because Root has a better backfoot game and he is prepared to play late. Kohli on the other hand stands 2 feet outside to hide his weakness. This only compounds his weakness.

If Joe Root or any other batsman play 200 tests , they will break the Sachin's record easily. It is not  like Bradman's 99.96 avg which is unattainable.

It is like Anderson holding the record for most wickets by a fast bowler just due to number of matches he has played.

Anderson is not even in top ten among best fast bowlers.Sachin is not even in top three best batsmen.

Those weren't flat pitches. India's best performer was Rohit Sharma with 360 odd runs.

Joe Root alone scored 4 hundreds which is equivalent to the total number of hundreds scored by all Indians in that series( Rohit, KL, Pant, Jadeja each hitting 1 hundred). If it was a flat wicket, India would have hit more hundreds over a 5 test series. It was a one man show on pretty well balanced pitches.

The thing is Sachin played only 329 innings over 200 tests and averaged 53 with an average over 50 outside Asia. That's legendary.

Not even in top 3 doesn't dimish any player's stature although I would say it's debatable.

Bhai you are comparing our shitty batsmen to root. Ofcourse we can't bat for ****. It was really flat except 4th test and that's the only test root struggled. Seems like he has issues on spicy pitches vs any top bowler.

On flatter 2ickets yes he can take you to the cleaners.

Problem is it swung at specific periods in that series. Unfortunately we mostly never had any luck In terms of timing. It was always bright sunshine when poms batted. We had to bowl exceptionally well to win those games.

Agreed. I feel kohli is the better macth winner. Kohli is an expert in second innings chases in losing causes. Slightly better at it than sacchu

I never diminished Sachin. He is legend of this game. But his records of most runs is only due to his number of matches played.

Anderson is a great bowler but he never was best fast bowler.

Yeah but Sachin operated at a very high level( average of 53) for that many matches. This is the point here.

Others who operate at same level( average between 50-55) weren't able to do that for that many matches so that is a greatness itself for Sachin.

Anderson is also operating at a high level for so many matches now so he is also a great bowler but his average of 26 is not a GOAT bracket.
