They played brave & attacking cricket and won. Luck favors brave. No way their same team with old pre bazball style was going to win series in pakistan leave 3-0 whitewash. So it helps playing that way in most situations but when opposition is really good they will have to change their game too. They got lucky in this series too btw, they lost cause they are too rigid and arrogant to change their approach according to the situation.

Playing the same way on every surface is not "brave" - it's stupid & shows why Eng's bassball is just *ing BS - see what'll happen when Broad & Anders retire in a year or so!

Aus will pakka be one finalist in this WTC cycle. Eng to tour India next year, great chance for us to shut them out of this cycle as well.

Kya fayda, will again lose with eggsperience players

They are playing at home and surface for 4th innings chase are good too.

Australia and england both toured pakistan last year. Australia was comfortably better team but won 1-0. 2 Draws because australia didn't have time to bowl pakistan out. England's approach worked on those pitches even with bit weaker side cause their batsman played over attacking cricket. Though in such situation you need timid & fearful teams like pakistan as an opposition.

Two home losses. ICF would be on fire if we lost two home games back to back

We lost only one since 2017 AFAIK.

Two, we lost at chennai 2021 and indore 2023. We changed pitch drastically in next match however unlike england.

Well first of all we need to have this finale outside of Eng, why can't SL host it FFS :bike:

Eng is in no way a neutral venue for us!

The Indore pitch itself was doctored for some reason, it's flat & usually breaks very late in the test. Who came up with that *ing idea needs to be shot :hmpf:

We came close in 2017 Bengaluru but were so so clutch from day 2 onwards.

Our home record speaks for itself, not just cricket, tough to see such a dominant run in any team sport.

That's not 100% accurate, against Ind/NZ they had sh!t duke balls. IIRC in our test bowl was changed over a dozen times - do you remember seeing that before? Same with NZ, SA series had better balls & probably this Ashes too. Now the bad balls did help our batting too in that test but let's not kid ourselves they won just on "good surfaces" :bebored:

They made turners and won first two test so though australia is no way coming back in series so let's go with same plan.

Indore 2023 was due to batting. We won on similar pitches before. Then they got a patta to save some careers.

Chennai 2021, the big change was including Axar for Nadeem.

English media would likely grill these guys badly but England was never favorite to win with or without BazBall.

They still have series victories in SL (twice) SA (twice)  and Pak...  With a drawn series in NZ.

Apart from India & Aus there record ain't that bad.

They need to sort out these home defeats.

In feel they could be competitive in India this time...  Hopefully only one among Kohli Rohit Rahane are playing tho:fear1:

Yes it was changed atleast twice more than we did. There has been problem with dukes in last few years going out of shape. I don't see what is problem with changing it if it's out of shape. Umpires have methods to check if it's in proper shape and if it's not then you replace it with bowl that has been bowled similar overs and looks similar to one you have currently. In that test we changed ball 3-4 times too but not as much as england so that tells whoever was given job to look at ball wasn't looking at shape of it properly. If you have even small doubt then ask umpire to replace it there is nothing wrong in that is it? It's our mistake we didn't look after the ball alot.
