Maybe the management want him to concentrate only in test matches and be better at that. They have good bunch to pick from in white ball cricket. Problem of plenty.

Against this garbage attack we folded like pack of cards. That Boland was forced to be dropped for taking 2 wickets for 230 odd runs. Our batsmen turned him into Richard hadlee.

see how Kohli is batting against a mediocre attack. That we made 2 WTC finals with this batting is pure testament to our bowlers and allrounders.

My most memorable encounter is Kohli vs Mehidy Hasan lol He was literally clueless. He was lunging everyball blindly. 22 balls 1 run before getting out

Aus just won the World Test Championship. He is entitled to say that.

That is why ICC test finals has to be best of three matches. It gives room for team to make a comeback if they get a bad start.

I thought Root still playing ODIs? No way they are dropping root for a wc in India, right?

Yea maybe. I don't think aus attack is great either. They have one great bowler. Just like us. On par for the most part of those years. Now our players are ageing. They are getting older too. 

 

Would say india aus and SA had the best attack between 2015-2022. Not one attack was like goat level but very good.

 

Windies of 80s and Perhaps aus attack of 2000 are goat attacks. Even for aus attack of 2000, it's 2 great bowlers in mcg and Warner. Not the whole attack.

SA of early 70s would have been a GOAT attack if they played. proctor, peter pollock, van der Bijl --> three greats and there would be additional support bowlers and ARs like garth le roux, eddie barlow, denys hobson, etc

Have a feeling that looking back the Bairstow dismissal is what will be considered as the turning point of this series. Not unlike how McGrath stepping on a ball to get injured was in 2005.

Only other contest worth watching is Aus India

Saw the highlights. I have to say Crawley was uber lucky . So many inside edges. So many outside edges. One was even dropped. One of those days things just went his way.
