Lyon is bowling defensive line. Most of the balls pitches outside the leg and turning further away. He is merely trying not to concede runs in the end getting some wickets.

That's the best way to bowl against aggressive batting. Frustrate them, not them score. Not bowl aggressively and concede runs.

True. He is somewhat the architect of this Bazball. We had Pant even before that. Australia had Gilly. But others played normal cricket around them. England's substandard players like Crawley started adopting and getting better results than otherwise.

More precisely two eyed stance. Root has adjusted his stance. Smith also changes his technique.  They are versatile compared to Kohli/Kane williamson.
