rkt.india Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 When I first saw Mukesh some 7 years back, i never thought he could play for India. Was just a run of the mill bowler. Unthinkable has happened. Same case was with Rishi Dhawan who got selected twice for Indian team. Insane level of incompetence. tweaker, Frustrated, rollingstoned and 1 other 1 3
Mosher Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 Mukesh is an average bowler who is steady and can hold one end up. He is not exciting/sexy. Good old line and length trundler. Just the kind of bowler this team management likes. Hence part of all squads without doing much. Very lucky guy. Lone Wolf, Suhaan, Frustrated and 1 other 3 1

Suhaan Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 Even hire foreign commentators for domestic matches, pathetic old school no name yesteryear domestic crickets keep talking shyte with mics in hand This has telling effect on Indian cricket now which we are feeling the effect It was always a slow poison express bowling 1

This guy is total dud.

Seriously that is an automatic rejection. Literally begging us to be dropped. Even mookesh's mum won't select him. What a travesty. No excuse for a trundler to not be able to bat. tapandrun Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 (edited) Can not find the logic with Mukesh's selection, is he an upgrade on Deepak and Bhuvi (not saying Bhuvi should be in the team). Deepak and Bhuvi both can bat and are slightly quicker and have more skills than him so why Mukesh? So if Bhumrah does not make it to the WCs, then Siraj, Thakur, Mukesh, Unadkat/Shami is this Inds fast bowling line-up. They must be asking for rubbish pitches else if a little bit good pitch then this bowling wont be able to stop a team below 335. Right now looks like with the kind of confidence Ind batting like up has, 270+ is a big total for them against any half decent bowling attack. Frustrated Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Watched the highlights. M Kumar looks like a decent leg spinner. Definitely an upgrade over Chahal. More importantly, a leg spinner who can bowl in the PowerPlays. express bowling 1

And come big matches against big teams, these trundlers get smashed. And this has been going on for ages but our cricket fraternity never learn. Frustrated, Mosher and Suhaan 3

In Asia Cup 2022, our game vs SL was a virtual KO. Both bhuvi & arshdeep were wicketless and got smashed. The match was lost in first 4 overs when SL made 42/0. Our TM did not learn anything from it and continued their ROMANCE with trundlers. Subsequently, in WT20 SF vs Eng, we all know what transpired. Not just a defeat but an absolute annihilation. Eng were 55/0 in first 4 overs. Same set of trundlers lost the match in first 4 overs...As u said, our TM is still sleeping and will probably never wake up till bcci keeps earning crores in IPeeL. express bowling 1
Lone Wolf Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Mukesh after this performance will find himself in every squad possible... Even in WC reserves. He will be next Harshal in T20s too.

I remember a dialogue from the recent golmal movie which translates to "if it's a God's wish, then stop looking for logic and start believing in magic". I think our selectors are Rohit Shetty fan and have literally taken this dialogue by heart. They stopped looking for any logic, just select some random trundler and hope for magic. When we won 2007 t20 WV We had rp Singh and Nehru bowling 138-145 consistently. Real fast. And in 2011 we had sree who bowled 137-145, even zaheer was somewhat quick. 135-140 No one trundled. Even munaf when he started was rapid.

For intnl replacement there should either be a clear upgrade or potential longterm prospect. Yes clearly poorest pace attack in v.long time and Ind fast bowling attack has not been top class baring last few years, so this attack looks amongst the worse in intnl cricket. express bowling 1
