Rahul was dropped and post his return, he has three hundreds in England and South Africa.

Nothing wrong in thinking about dropping Gill also. Keep him on his toes until he improves and become a better test batsman.

Gill scored two hundreds in last 9 tests same as Rahul .Why should he be dropped??

he will score more runs in this series than Rahul.

Dhruv Jurel is picked as backup keeper. Now, we should hope that KL Rahul gets injured or does badly behind stumps. Jurel likely to be a superstar in few years

Phenomenal talent.

Also pradosh

Ans sai

All 3 super talents.

Patidar is thrashing England Lions for India A currently.  Easily best batter in domestics.  Sarfaraz isn't a patch on him in terms of talent & ability to play pace & spin.

Only thing is Why is India A letting him open?  He is a middle order bat.. And best one in the country at that @Vk1 @Nikhil_cric

Sarfraz is playing well in the Lions match too. At least so far.

Patidar bats at #4 for MP so yeah it's surprising.

I see that Sai is there in the lineup. Would have liked to see him in the top order.

Potts and Fisher were Test bowlers for England.  He could have gained a lot from the experience.

Potts Fisher Carse that's a good pace attack for Eng A.

Patidar on 90 not out & joined by Sarfraz..

Carse is a bit overrated.

I suppose he's good for an 'A' attack.

They selected him for the World Cup after Toppley got injured.

But all I remember is him getting destroyed by Rohit Sharma when we went there in 2022.

England's back up pace options are not that impressive .

But Ollie, Jimmy and Wood are a handful.

Jaiswal

Hitman

Gill

Kohli

Iyer

KL

Axar

Jadeja

Ashwin

Bumrah

Siraj

India have already won this series with this line up.

2 pace bowlers who can take wickets with the new ball, 3 spinners who in Indian conditions are unplayable against SENA.

6 recognized batsmen plus Axar, Jaddu and Ash, who the three of them will likely outscore a few English batsmen on this tour.

Batting line up in India is too strong compared to the POMS, probably the only player who you could not depend on for any runs is Siraj.

Im not 100% convinced of KL for a Test series in India. But IMO he will be given the job first up.

agree on Patidar and Sarfraz. He is good in middle order so should get a run there

That is your assumption that young guys will perform similar., why would you drop Rohit in India and Gill is the future, why would you drop him.

Gill has been very disappointing since Gabba, why should he be a certainty.

Rohit is just overhill now.

If you don't work youngsters in home conditions, when else will you? We'll win series with this lot for sure

I'd replace Axar with Kuldeep. Axar and Jadeja are like twins. Sure it takes away some batting, but with batting all the way to Ashwin and Jadeja at 7 & 8, not sure we need Axar. Kuldeep brings a bit more variety, perhaps.

Axar can easily bat at 6 as batting AR. We can play all 4

Yeah playing new ball against these guys could fine tune Patidar for overseas tests.
