I have only watched from the end of the 90's. Cairns was a genuine allrounder who could bat like a proper batsman in the top 7 and open the bowling as well. Last 4-5 years of his career , he was playing more as a batsman anyway as his bowling declined . Pollock may have been an allrounder but the only time he would bat in the Top 7 was when Boucher came in after him etc. Link to comment

Nz never do well againt india in non swinging conditions. In tests and odi, india uaually thrash them in asia. In t20 also india beat them in bilaterals 5 0 last time Its a myth. In ko matches nz beat us, its almost always a swing friendly country for odi and tests. In t20 they did win in india abd u.a.e but thats t20. Edited February 24 by Kron Link to comment

Yes pak when they had great swing bowlers did well. Our good swing bowler bhuvi was injured and dint play unfortunately in his peak. Link to comment

No Pakistan won a test series with rag tag attack of Tanvir ahmed and co in 2010. They seem to bat better also against NZ.India barely won a test series with their best batting unit and NZ worst team in 2008.They needed Gambhir to bat three days to get the series win. India on other hand does well against Australia where as other teams struggled both home and away. Kron and raki05 1 1 Link to comment
Gollum
NZ basically knocked Aus out of T20 WC 2022. Only match Aussies lost and that was enough. Had they made SF in that edition, who knows.....they are ridiculously tough to beat in KOs. Link to comment

I predicted (somewhere) that Australia go and win 4/4 next ICC events around 2021 (at the start of t20 Worldcup). There was no deep thinking just felt Australia's acche din has come. Didn't post cause Australia lost their very next ICC event. Gollum 1 Link to comment
Frustrated
Aus hv been playing all 3 formats with literally the same set of players in the last decade. Hazlewood, Cummins, Starc, Warner and Head. Yet they continue to win ICC tournaments in all 3 formats. Unbelievable consistency in all 3 formats by the same set of players. Gollum
If India can't, hope Aussies win the T20 WC. They have always set the golden standard for rest of the world to follow. And holding WC, WTC and T20 WC trophy at the same time will be a new benchmark. If they can also win next CT, even more impressive. Aussies can do it, beating them in KOs is almost impossible. Well somebody has to try right. If we can beat them in tests away from home, we have to try and come up with ways to beat them in short formats. I think anyone is beatable in t20. In odi they are so hard to beat in ko stages. I dont think anyone can beat australia in odi for a while. They are just so balanced. Their batsmen all can bowl too Link to comment

India will play 5 batsmen and 6 bowlers/bowling allrounders with Rinku batting at #5. Then after Kohli plays a rare good knock , our fans will call him the GOAT T20 player and our attack the GOAT T20 attack but somehow we choked in a knockout again. Whereas Australia will play Matthew Wade at 7 and cover 5th bowler's quota with Stoinis and Maxwell. While some of our fraud fans will insist we need both Jadeja and Hardik at 7 and 6 to even compete. Suhaan 1 Link to comment

Thats the thing..T20 is such a short format that we need more impact players..who can change momentum of the game in a flash..T20 is a see-saw where even a 5 bowl 15 runs cameo or economical few balls tilt the balance in ur favor..the ARs need to be such impact player in atleast their primary skill.. can Jadeja be that bowler.. can the new Accumulator Pandya be that batter.. If not then we are reducing %ages of our wins.. Link to comment
